    Hello all,

I've been on the forum for a while, but posting now for the first time.

I've have a 2004 VFR800 and My tail light and plate light are out. My brake and head lights work as expected.

I've checked the fuse in fuse box and all of the fuses are good. I assume the only thing that could be left is a short in the wire that leads back to the tail. There seems to be 2 wires that connect all three: Green (ground) and a Brown/Blue(lead). I can see where the wind back into the main harness on the right side of the bike, but I can't figure out where they source to from the wiring diagram (0030Z-MCW-L000). My guess is that it feeds back into the headlight relay, but it is difficult to tell that from the diagram.

    Anyone encountered this issue before?

    Thanks in advanced,

    Jonathan

that light is wired directly off the running light in the rear should be a small plug that gooes up to the main stop/runnin light and it is off the running light circuit also check for corrosion in that socket its a possiblity...

So I disconnected can cleaned out the connectors that I had available (that I could find with the fairing off): 5 on the right and 4 on the left (besides the ECM). No luck.

So, do you know what the wire colors of the running light circuit are? I would assume one of them is green for ground. If I can find the source point for that, I can then work my way backward with my multimeter.
