Does any member have the phone number for motorcyclecarbs.com?

You can only get access to it if your order and only for a few seconds otherwise.

I am sick of waiting for my order to ship and non communication. I am going to cancel if I can just get ahold of them.

SOMEONE must have some honda float needles.

I do not have time for that.
Also I do not own a laptop. I only use the "can" for two things.

I am an artist and my artwork requires a much better screen than a laptop has.

I sent an email to Motorcyclecarbs Carburetors, Carburetor Parts and Carburetor Restoration and told them I was not happy and that I wanted to cancel my order and that
I found out there are complaints about lack of communication.

About 30 minutes later I received this email.

"The part you needed was ordered from the vendor last week as we only had 2 left in stock.
We just received the floats today from Keihin (it takes a week for them to deliver). Your order will be shipped today or tomorrow via USPS 2-3 days priority mail.
    Our apologies for the inconvenience."

So that worked and seemed reasonable so now we (I) will wait and see what happens next.
Maybe they will salvage their reputation. Better communication and keeping promises.

But I still do not understand that if they do carb restoration why would they not have any parts in stock.
And lets face it.... the float needle is 90% of what goes wrong in a carb besides the pilot /idle jet getting clogged.

Also most medical books tell you not to sit on a toilet when you are not doing your business.
When you get older the autonomic responses of all your body parts that make elimination happen will have a lousy response.

damn, I guess I'll be drinking more coffee and bran muffins to ensure proper elimination in the future. :kaboom:

Glad to hear you got a response. Lets hope it shows up as promised.

    Very funny!!!LOL (flame flash )

I try to be fair and I gave the members the exact text of the email from that company. and that is all I can do.
Now it is up to that company to save their reputation. After all they do have serious complaints against them.

    UPDATE:..... on www.motorcyclcarbs.com

May 5th and 6th I am unable to log onto their website at all.

Is anyone else having that result?

After the above post( May 6th 2010) I received an email that said Click and ship is shipping my package.
I feel like i may NOT have lost my $77.00

So it looks more hopeful now, even though I cannot log onto their website.

DB, i think that that the guy will come thru for you.

i have been to his shop/house, and he was great in helping me out with parts on hand.
the parts he sold me at a reasonable costs, and his helpfull advice/knowledge was free.

back then, he had a phone contact, but has switched to just email since then.
i contacted him recently (email) about parts for a buddy, and he responded in a timely manner.

its basically just him (and at least his wife back then) working out of his garage.
he had a ton of carb parts, and many sets of dead carbs undergoing his resto service.
he certainly cant keep EVERY carb part in stock, and would have to order others like any business.

i hope it works out for you, and think it probably will, unless he has just totally gone under.

Hey guys, I did a google search on mortorcyclecarbs.com and this thread was one of a few results I was able to find.

My situation is very similar to the OP's

Back in the beginning of April I puchased a '96 Suzuki DR125SE that had less than 700 miles on it and had been sitting for about 10 years.
Needless to say it needed a battery and everything in the carb was seized up, the float wouldn't even budge.

So after putting a battery in the bike and cleaning the carb up, my buddy finally got it running, not very good, but running. We decided
the best thing to do would be to rebuild the carb. So, on April 26th I searched until I found this... CARBURETOR REPAIR KIT: SUZUKI DR125
So, I put in my CC number and ordered it right away.

Later that same day, after talking with my buddy, who is a mechanic, it dawned on me that the carb rebuild kit might not have all the
parts that we needed, (like the float needle valve), so I sent an Email to the customer service at Motorcyclecarbs.com that stated the following...

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------
To whom it may concern, My order number is **** Could you let me know which parts are included in this Carb repair kit.
I need to know so I can order more parts that may not be included.

    Thankyou

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------

I never recieved a response to this E-mail.

    On May 1st, I sent a second E-mail...

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------

To whom it may or may not concern,

If I had known that you did not have my parts in stock,
OR that I would have to wait so long to recieve the parts,
or that you would not respond to my Emails,
I would not have ordered anything from you!
    Thanks for wasting my time!!!!
I will not be doing business with motorcyclecarbs EVER AGAIN if I dont get
a response from this Email by monday.
I NEEDED THOSE PARTS BY TODAY!!!!
THAT IS WHY I ORDERED THEM FROM YOU LAST WEEK!!!

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I never recieved a response to this E-mail.

I finally recieved the carb kit on May 8th and, what do you know.... WRONG PART!!!
I then realized that even though there was no contact telephone info on the website, I could
find it on my credit card statement. Once I got the phone number I called it and got voicemail,
left a message, 2 days later, NO RESPONSE. Then one morning around May 10th I called the number
early in the morning and Robert answered. I told him who I was and that the part I recieved was
wrong and he starts giving me this sob story about, he was in the hospital, and he has had a terrible month, and this and that. He tells me to send
the part back and he will personally make sure that I get the right part. He also says that if I don't get a response right away just to send more
E-mails 'cause, The squeaky wheel gets the grease."

May 12th I shipped the part back to him and....this is where I kind got a little irritated.... He had charged me $10 for shipping, right? I used the
same service he did to return ship, and it only cost me $5, insured, with tracking, and delivery confirmation!!!

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

May 15th I confirm delivery through the USPS website and fire off another E-mail...

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    To whom it may concern,

After receiving the wrong part from you last week I spoke with the owner of Motorcycle carbs and he instructed me to return the merchandise,
which I have done. I received delivery comfirmation from the USPS yesterday afternoon.(USPS Delivery Comfirmation Reciept #0310 0480 0000 7259 0795)

I still need a carbuerator rebuild kit for my 1996 Suzuki DR125SE.
The owner said he would have to do a little research to ensure that he would send me the right part this time. It is my hope that you would
expedite this as I have needed these parts since April 26th. Also, I am hoping that you do not charge me for shipping because I sent an Email
about the accuracy of the parts I ordered BEFORE they were shipped and that Email was never responded to. Therefore I feel the Motorcycle
carbs should bear the responsibility of shipping expenses for the next shipment.

    Again, I need a carb rebuild kit for a 1996 Suzuki DR125SE.
I know that the carb is made by Mikuni.

Please respond ASAP so that I know what is going on.

    Sincerely, Garrett

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This is the response I got back from this E-Mail 5 DAYS LATER!!!!

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    May 20th, 2010

    Dear customer.

First of all I ask that you excuse this form reply.

This has been a very difficult 4-6 weeks for us here at Motorcyclecarbs. Last month we changed our email solution from a overly simplistic POP mail
system to a Microsoft Exchange corporate mail server solution that got to be more of a configuration monster than a solution. This created a myriad
of problems that pulled resources away from customer service as I am among other things the owner, IT Dept, purchasing agent, and customer service associate.

Once all of this started to get calmed down the customer service inquiries had backed up to a point of almost unmanageability. Upon getting a grip
on this I had been admitted to the hospital for a gall bladder removal after 3 days of a 102 degree fever and sleeping 16 hours a day involuntarily.

During the final days of my stay in the hospital our web host made some changes that put us offline for about 3-4 days and while in stitches fresh
out of the hospital I had to find a collocation for our web server across town and get it all set up which created another slew of issues to overcome and more back log.

This letter is to advise you that I have approximately 4-500 customer inquiries as to status of your order. Each one takes me 10-20 minutes to find answers to.
This works out to 3-6 emails an hour answered. So with this I ask your help. I ask that you reply to this email if you still have questions as many of the questions
asked are going to be answered with “its already been shipped”. So in order to save time and answer you quicker please reply to this mail with a NEW inquiry to
your situation if it is still relevant. This will drastically decrease my workload.

I understand that we have gotten bad press on forums, etc due to our lack of communication and if you are connected in such a community I ask that you reply
to any thread about this situation with something explanatory and sympathetic if you have any empathy to my situation.

In hopes of recovering from this quickly and being able to address your inquiries soon. Be advised I will reply to your reply instead of your prior inquiry. That being
said, please forgive this very unfortunate situation that has affected us both negatively.

    Sincerely,

    Robert Reil
    Sales Dept Associate
    Motorcyclecarbs.com

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

After eading this last E-mail I quickly fire off a "NEW INQUIRY"...

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    To whom it may concern,

After receiving the wrong part from you last week I spoke with the owner(Robert) of Motorcycle carbs and he instructed me to return the merchandise,
which I have done. I received delivery comfirmation from the USPS yesterday afternoon.(USPS Delivery Comfirmation Reciept #0310 0480 0000 7259 0795)

Robert said he would have to do a little research to ensure that he would send me the right part this time. It is my hope that you would expedite this as I
have needed these parts since April 26th. Also, I am hoping that you do not charge me for shipping because I sent an Email about the accuracy of the parts
I ordered PRIOR to you shipping them to me and that Email was never responded to. Therefore, I feel the Motorcycle carbs should bear the responsibility of
shipping expenses for the next shipment.

Especially considering that I was charged $10 to have the part shipped TO ME, but when I shipped it BACK TO YOU it only cost me $5.(funny how that works.)

    Again, I need a carb rebuild kit for a 1996 Suzuki DR125SE.
I know that the carb is made by Mikuni.

Please respond ASAP so that I know what is going on. The riding season in Michigan is short and I've already burned up a
month waiting on parts to get the bike running right.

    Sincerely, Garrett Thompson

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I never recieved a response from this E-mail.

I have since sent 5 MORE "NEW INQUIRYS"
I sent one on May 20th
    another on May 22nd
    another on May 24th
    another on May 26th
    yet another on May 28th
    and finally, June 2nd

I have not recieved a response from ANY OF THESE E-Mails.It seems Robert Reil of Motorcyclecarbs.com has a history of handling his business this way...

Here is my most recent E-mail that I am sure probably won't even get read.....

    Robert!!!

This is the 5th "New Inquiry" I've sent. It is the 7th inquiry since May 17th,
when I first recieved comfirmation from the USPS that you recieved the rebuild kit that I sent back.
You've had your part back for almost 3 weeks!!!
I don't deserve a response?!?!?! PISSED Doesn't even begin to describe how I feel now!
I tried to be understanding but you won't even ****ing communicate with me!!!!
Let me know what the h*** is going on!!!!

After receiving the wrong part from you almost 3 weeks ago, I spoke with you and you
instructed me to return the merchandise, which I have done. I received delivery comfirmation
    from the USPS May 15th.(USPS Delivery Comfirmation Reciept #0310 0480 0000 7259 0795)

You told me to Email, "The squeaky wheel gets the grease.", well, no grease yet and it's been almost 3 weeks!!!!

I still need a carbuerator rebuild kit for my 1996 Suzuki DR125SE.
You said you would have to do a little research to ensure that you sent me the right part
this time. It is my hope that you would expedite this as I have needed these parts since April 26th.

Therefore, I feel the Motorcycle carbs should bear the responsibility of shipping expenses for the
next shipment. Especially considering that you charged me $10 to ship the part TO ME,
but when I shipped it BACK TO YOU it only cost me $5, using the same shipping company
you did! (funny how that worked out in your favor!!!.)

    Again, I need a carb rebuild kit for a 1996 Suzuki DR125SE.
I know that the carb is made by Mikuni.

Please respond ASAP so that I know what is going on. The riding season in Michigan is short and
I've already burned up a month waiting on parts to get the bike running right.
A bunch of my friends are headed up to the Mounds for memorial day weekend, I can't go because
my bike still isn't running right because it needs the carb rebuilt, thanks!!!

    Sincerely, Garrett

As you can probably tell I was too lazy to type out a new E-mail every time, I mostly would just copy an older one, paste it, and then add to or edit it.

Forget about MOTORCYCLECARBS.COM !!!!!!! READ THIS AGAIN.

FORGET about a KIT!!! IT is NOT A CAR

    IT will drive you crazy.

Get some new float needles and install them and make sure the idle jets are clean.
Make sure you can see daylight through them. DO NOT use a paper clip to clean a jet it will be ruined!!

I posted a list of all the motorcycles that use the SAME FLOAT NEEDLE I will post that list again.
HERE IS THE LIST OF ALL THE MOTORCYCLES THAT USE THE SAME FLOAT NEEDLE.

    Second part of the list...

When I get my money back.

The way I see it, it was my money. I earned it. He STOLE it.

As for the rest of your post, thank you.
I have managed to obtain the float valve needle, still trying to get the jets.
What about the gaskets? This bike sat for 10 YEARS!
