Hyper pro is cheaper than racetech, from what I found. Check them out as well.

Just go to the HW store with caliper in hand and choose a tube that a is as close as possible in dia. to the washer's external.

just not sure that our PVC plumbing standards are the same.... :)

    I am in Milano BTW

Had a good spirited ride this week and with the 2" shortened springs and 15W the front ends is simply great.
The fact that it cost next to nothing was an added bonus :)

I did went from the manual's recommended 170mm down to 150mm of air gap for less dive under braking. Air gap will have much more influence on dive under braking than spacers/washers and will not alter your ride height. having the front end ride higher slows your steering.

    Hey Turbo,

No worries were metric here too..

My only concern is I dont want it too stiff as I ams trictly a road rider /commuter. Right now the front is a little too sloppy...Is the spacer in the forks made of PVC as oem? or is it metal?

Plastic spacers under hydraulic oil scare the bejeebies out of me. But maybe I am just over reacting.

    I'll give it a shot

    thanks

oem spacers are thin metal but the pvc tube idea has been used for ages as fork spacers. the pvc tube is not put under any kind of hidraulic pressure. the tube i used was 32mm external dia.

if you are afraid about going too hard, maybe just cut one inch and see how you like it. you should cut your pvc tube so that the added length of the spacer and the cut spring is like the uncut spring + the old spacer. cut from the close coils and mount the cut end towards the top.

then again, if you are nervous about mcguivering things, maybe just shell out the money and buy the kit. I build race bikes so i'm used to this kind of "cut and see" ;)
