With riding season getting closer and organized rides being put together I was hoping to get the skinny on what rides you oregon coast riders may be going to? Sounds like a fun poker run for St. Judes in Coos Bay this May. Anyone here going to it?

Most of the organized stuff on the Coast is harleydood oriented. Short rides, lots of posturing and tall tales of former glory and how they all had Harleys in 06 (1906) and how they whipped the " Japs" in WWII before they were born. Never quite figured out how that was done..:)

The Rhodie fest of course if ya like standing around and seeing more cops/sqft than you thought were in the whole state. It has to be the overtime because the harleydoods major threat is gumming someone to death or stepping on someones girlfriend's boob. A few bad boys always show up but the odor gives them away.

In other news, there is a new repair place in Newport. Going North on 101 hook a right on 20. It's on the right next to the beauty school.

One of the better sportbike oriented gigs is SportBikeNorthWest in mid summer on the Columbia.. See Sound RIDER! - The Northwest's leading motorcycle resource. Washington, Oregon, Seattle, Tacoma, Everett, Used bikes for details.

The site you attached looks like a good time, may see if I can get that way.

Man you ain't kidd'n about all the rides being HD oriented. I am going to the May 29th ride in Coos Bay for St. Judes though. Don't care who I am riding with that day, it is a great cause and I will be glad to help. Anyone else interested so I am not the only viffer in the crowd?

I have been thinking alot about trying to pull off a north west VFRW meet this summer. Seem like there are quite a few riders right here on the coast to meet but any and all would be great. Thoughts?

Tons of bikes on 101 coming and going. The dealerships and aftermarket outfits have yet to figure out that a bulletin board in the shop someplace is a good idea for announcing events ect. The harleydoods seem to think that everyone is reading thier online stuff. "They" aint.

St. Judes is a great cause but frankly those fund raisers are cliched and boring and the SOS over and over and out of the HOG "book of looking cool, looking bad and advertising HD's"

SBNW had 500+ attendees last year. Guest speakers were Reg Pridmore and Dave Hough. Dave is originally a "Coastie" from Tillamook.

Nice and warm here in July and August unless it's raining.
