how frustrating.found a 2007 rwb here in Portland. it has 700 miles on it, so it has no warranty. the dealers original price was $7499 otd, but eventually offered it for $6888. i had planned on only spending $6500, {my "magic number" }, but the bastards won't budge another dime!should i continue to shop or face the music and buck up another $388?

Have you taken the time to call all the Honda Motorcycle dealers in Oregon to see if anybody else has a "new" 2007 RWB? you could also go to another dealer and tell them about some of these others around the country for $6995 and see if they can just get a dealer transfer. Where I bought mine, the 2 RWB's weren't on they showroom floor, they were still in creates so unless you ask, you wouldn't know they had it.

I don't think in the end 700 miles is going to matter, no matter how the bike was really broken in, but it would be the principal of the thing to pay s much for a "used" bike with no warranty and 700 miles as you could for a zero mile with a year's warranty. Another question to ask is, why do they have the bike? Why does somebody sell a bike with 700 miles on it? sure there are a lot of good reason's, but I think i'd like to know.

The bottom line is, would YOU be happy spending an additional $388?

    +1

Personally I'd have two concerns: 1) There's no warranty and 2) it's priced like a "New" RWB. But I guess in the final analysis it boils down to this: It's your money.

Do you feel you'd get $7k worth of pleasure/use/miles out of it? If so, don't sweat the $388. Personally I'm concerned about the warranty for that price but that's just my opinion.

$388 is chump change to be able to go riding later today. Just me but I think you too close not to pull the trigger.

    agree with TOE.

Someone mentioned a helmet. I've done that before. You could feel them out by agreeing to their price if they include $400 worth of in store retail. It doesn't cost them $400 but you get $400 worth of value. They might come back with a counter or they might tell you to go pound sand. Then you have to ask yourself if its worth walking home instead of riding on 2 wheels.

I bought an identical bike 2 months ago. It had 1000 miles on it. I made the dealership agree to a thirty day warranty. I gave me a little peace of mind and they sold a bike that had been sitting on the showroom floor for a while.

Good call Gama - also keep in mind you can differentiate between a parts and a service warranty. For instance, you could ask for a 1month parts and 6months service warranty. If a part breaks after the 1st month, you buy the pieces but do not get charged labor. This type of offer has value to the buyer and little risk to the seller because the odds of them paying out of pocket costs are low.

i pulled the trigger on Friday!! and i am completely stoked.its all ithought it would be and i can tell you,its gonna get expensive cuz i've got aftermarket fever. i started out by buying a Dowco Deluxe, cover, then some Alpinestars SP2's, a Competition Werkes tail eliminator, and ending the day with a Rapid Transit 19 Tank Bag. down the road will probaly be Helibars,Leo Vince slip-ons, and some good Michelins can't decide about GPS, whether to mount it on the stem or in the map window of the new bag.

Congrats! I know what you mean, I ordered the cortech sport blue soft bags, tank bra, a blue CBR jacket, throttle lock, and just did the 600 mile service. LOL, I haven't even received the title yet to buy the tag! The upside is when I spend money like that AFTER just spending thall that money on the bike .... it gives my wife and I something to talk about!!! ROFL
