That 2nd video was a shocker. The guy who crashed, #53 Dan Chivington is a friend of mine from the old racing days. From Marion, Ohio. Small skinny guy that could ride the wheels off most bikes. Boy does that bring back old memories when we all raced together.

Yes the gen 1 & 2's were kick ass back in the day.

I remember watching Bubba Shobert ripping it up on the HRC VFR at Infineon Raceway in Sonoma CA. called Sears Point back then. I used to have some pics, but all packed away. That guy could ride, before the tragic USGP accident at Laguna Seca.

Now that I have riden 1, I see what they are capable of. They feel heavy when sitting but when in motion its a totally different machine. I ran her hard with bigger CC bikes and she performed well and on 2 and a half cyclinders if I may add.

You should see my good friend Jeff ride his Busa during the track days we attend.

He was batteling it out with a fellow on a Gixxer 600 that had been a AMA race bike, so it is 'properly pimped' as the owner Jody likes to say LOL!

Well pulling into the pits Jody and Jeff are shaking hands and laughing and Jody says: "You buddy Jeff here pulled in the fornt of the line and I was thinking WTF is this guy doing. Then we go out and he proceeds to put on a clinic!"

    Good times.

let me look if I still have the video of Fast Freddie, I'm not sure if he is on the 1000 or the 750 but I will look and see.
If I do still have it it is VHS and 2hrs long.

That 84 NSR500 is simply beautiful, pity one couldn't ride it without the fairing, those pipes are a work of art

I know, I'm watching it and thinking about how low I've pushed her going into corners at speed and I'm like... I'm nowhere close to what these guys are doing! Crazy.

i have an original video of the 87 transatlantic challenge. thats rainey on a gen 2 vs schwantz on the first of the GSXR 750's . apparently there were some brits there
but they dont feature much, except to complain about the americans 'factory tackle vs their road bikes'.

schwantz and rainey on the other hand went at it...big time!
