Good deal. I'm looking forward to hearing how these work out. What size did you select for the front wheel?

I think you will need to modify the front fender using a 120 up front - right? I believe a 120 size tire will rub the stock fender.

Are you using the stock VF500F calipers and rotors?

No, the 120 will fit with no mods. Stock calipers and rotors for now, but I am eagerly awaiting someone to buy and review the chinese made "wave" rotors I see on ebay all the time...

I'm thinking a 120 tire will rub the front fender but I am not 100% on this – perhaps it depends on the actual width – similar to what we have seen with the 150 versus 160 tires when mounted on the rear wheel. There seems to be a good deal of variation btwn manufacturers.

I don't know about Motorcycles but on GM vehicles I've played with the Accel coils always lasted 1/8 to 1/4 as long as OE parts.

I'd think Honda coils would be the best. I doubt you can jam enough Air/Fuel or increase the compression enough to need the extra spark.

    Just my 2 cents

Hmm...the 140403 indicates that it is for non-CDI bikes...

    Quick update...

Wheels are back and are almost ready for rubber. Still waiting on new front sprocket and chain...

Which brings me to an issue I am having with the donor engine. I am ready to drop the motor and take it into our local V4 guy's shop...except that I cant get the front sprocket to break loose.

If you have read the thread then you know that the donor engine has been sitting for a very long time. Original tires means this is likely the original sprocket. Anyway, it looks like the darn thing is ready to just slide off the counter shaft, but it wont budge. I mean it is SOLID, feels like it's still bolted in!

There was some rust on the end of the counter shaft so I hit it with PB Blaster and hooked up a gear puller over the weekend. Twice a day I would check in, give the sprocket a tap and give the puller another quarter turn...no luck.

I am going to try a torch next but thought I'd get some input from the VFRW crowd first...

It should just slide off provided all the pieces have been removed from the front of the sprocket.

You got the 2 bolts off plus the locking tab and the other piece?
