    Hi All,

apologies in advance because I am sure there is a thread on this but I cant find it.

Bike is a 98 with 7700 miles. I have put 1700 of those on it in the past two months with no problems.

I have been riding it every day including today when I rode it to work.

    Problem:
Left work today, turned key on, fuel pump ran, FI light went out, bike cranked but died.

Put choke on, pushed starter, nothing. noticed FI light was on. Turned key off and on, FI light wont go out.

    Basic checks:

Meter shows bat at 12.8 with key off, 12.5 with key on.

No voltage at the fuel pump with the key on.

so following the Clymer manual I started checking:

    a. 30A main fuse - ok
    b. 10 and 20A sub fuses - ok
    c. Engine stop switch (I never use this so I doubt it)
    d. Fuel cut relay...Wait a minute, this requires taking off the rear fairing. Is there anything else simple I should be checking before I start taking more things apart?

    Thanks in advance,

    Cliff

I have a similar problem. Did you mean to say your FI light stays on with the key off?

hey TC, no I meant that when you turn the key on the FI light comes on and stays on but the pump wont run. With the key off it was off.

Since then it started working again, no reason why (unless it was the dog food in the air cleaner box. I will have time to work on it the week and will check and see if it stored a code.
