The problem is that I'm broke. So I am thinking of removing the master link, and the other broken link (chain isent worn, just has 2 broken links) and replacing them with new master links.

It might not be as good as buying 200 bucks worth of chain and sprocket, but it would get me by for a while.

    what is your opinion?

The links seem to have something missing, the bar going across the chain is crooked and looks to have a gap where there should be something and makes the chain start to "jump" a link. (best way i can describe it).

That sounds like a terrible idea. You're just setting yourself up for another failure, and possibly personal injury or damage to the bike. The title of your post has the answer, a new chain. If you can't afford a new one, go find a good takeoff on Ebay.

Your chain is too dangerous to play around with. Just buy a new cheap non O-ring chain to get by till things get better. It won't last long with the roasted sprockets but it is a safer option.

Try these guys, I found them to be excellent in the past.

+1 on replacing the chain (and check the sprockets too, usually a bad chain means bad sprockets)

On sum of all parts, my experience was 180 degrees opposite the reference... took 3 months to get it after 3 phone calls and 6 emails. They dont seem to stock anything, just reorder from others. Be warned... and I am not the only one with this experience:

well. When i looked at the chain there was NO repairing it. pieces of metal missing, parts nearly rubbed through. If it was just two damaged links i could just replace the links, this was not the case. so i called around, the local shop had the best price, even better than denniskirk (maybe not as good of a chain, but cheaper, and its an o ring chain so not the worst quality).

anyway i got a new chain and sprockets from the local dealer, turns out it was from parts unlimited. i checked the price, i paid about the same as if i went to them directly. glad the local shop got a cut of the profits though.

They cut the chain down to size for me. i can install it tomorrow. Im to freaking sore from working today.

There is a guy from vfrD that has the same bike, but a MUCH better looking hitch. he hooked his up in the same places, but instead of square stock, he used a pipe and made a U shape then put the ball in the bottom of the U. his looks factory made. Ill make one like that eventually.

I used one of their chains last year. I did not change the sprockets so the chain wore faster and matched the kink pattern of the old chain. I still got 7k out of it though. If I had done the whole set it would have ended up lasting a lot longer and being a great deal.

I just did another chain and sprocket change, I only did just the chain last year because I was short money at the time. I expected to only have it on for a month or so but it lasted a good bit. The rear stock steel sprocket still looks good it was the front that was bad and killing the chain. Think I paid 50 bucks for just the chain from race-driven on ebay and it was decent quality. Got a DID on it now to see how long it last and then do a whole set from race-driven again to compare apples to apples.
