The world is jam packed full of completely self absorbed dipsticks. Parking lot quibbles are just one more example of the rampant idea that the entire world exists for my entertainment, an idea exacerbated by every form of media, and used to sell you shit. You can either buy into it and run around with a cute little "attiitude" all the time, or frustrate yourself trying to be a one man campaign for behaving like a decent person. Volvo and Saab drivers rank right up there with idiots in rolling boomboxes with giant wings on the trunk and jacked-to-the-moon monster pickup drivers that never go off road. Which is to say, they are way too worried about how the world views them based on what vehicle they drive. Although Volvos and Saabs are actually fairly decent cars, just overpriced cause snob appeal costs money.

Apparently Junyr someone thought you were being rude taking up an entire space with your bike, if there were no other spaces available anywhere and you could have parked easily in a designated bike lot or elsewhere nearby then they may be right and youre adding to the problem. Otherwise you got there first and it sucks to be them.

I have watched someone pull thier car into the space WITH my bike, at which point I had to go out and stare at them until they got the message, they then looked ashamed and backed out. It could just have easily turned into a fistfight over a parking place and ruined my whole day.

Thanks Rchecks. I'll keep an eye out to see if we have signs like that around here too.

AndyJ :pound: you kill me. We also had a guy and his family get stuck in the mountains this winter following their GPS onto some unplowed forest service road.

And Crusty - It's the Japanese rising sun ductape decals that make you look like a thug. Get that shat fixed already!

I've actually had someone try to physically MOVE my bike out of a space when I parked legally in a parking spot. Regardless if I was on my old 750 or not at the time. When I walked up behind them and my shadow blocked out the sun I could almost see the hairs stand up on the back of their neck with fear. I didn't say a word but the look on my face I'm sure spoke volumes. It's a good thing i keep my bike in gear or who knows where he would have pushed my bike. He had 2 things bad going for him; he was a bout the same size and looked like dani pedrosa (freakin' little turd!) :pound:

    Check this out....
    True story.

    It was on the freeway.
Lady driving on the freeway with her two children. They see a dog. Night time. The boy wants to stop on the freeway and get the dog.
The mom stops and the boy runs after the dog. Meanwhile their car is rear ended and the young girl in the back of the station wagon
gets seriously hurt. The boy chasing the dog gets hit by a car and is killed.
The next week on a radio talk show the mother says if she had another chance to do it again . She would do the same thing!!

Again, everywhere is somewhat different, but here in BC, business parking lots fall under the definition of a highway. Motoring public has reasonable access and there is an implied access to drive on that parking lot. Therefore our Motor Vehicle Act applies to parking lots. However, before the police can take action relating to any sign posted on that property, the sign also has to conform to the Motor Vehicle Act Regulations. In other words, a sign painted at the local paint shop prohibiting the picking of one's nose, is not enforceable.

However, being private property, if there is any type of sign posted, the property owner has the right to tow any vehicle for non compliance. Then the different Lien Acts come into play for who pays the tow. Typically the owner of the vehicle towed pays to get car out of hawk

But this is a little off topic. The Miss Vulva Volvo is a bich. And Crusty is DA MAN!

    REally?

If you weren't Canadian then I might believe you. Do they provide hitching posts at Walmart for you Mounties?

Nah, that all makes sense to me. I tend to agree with Cundi though that the bike is probably just as invisible in the parking lot (or more-so) than it is on the road so most people probably wouldn't waste their time. I've definately seen bikes parked up next to the building if there's an out of the way space and I've always assumed it was probably an employee.

so this thing could have gone two ways, one the way it did....wich by the way did wind me up a bit....or she could have asked me politely if I would move, I totally would HAVE. I believe in respecting my elders...however, respect has to be given to be recieved.

That would most likely be a mothers denial of responsability while trying to cope. If she says she wouldnt do it again, she is admitting guilt to herself and the world.

Only honorable thing left for her to do is to kill herself. Do you think she's an honorable woman?

She needs to stay at home and take care of the injured girl.
Over time she may realize her mistake. IT will be a sad day for her. She has a lot of suffering in front of her.
But as soon as she admits to herself she made a mistake she can then put all of her energy helping her little girl.
It was a heart breaking story.

It's a great big stupid world.
How low have we sunk when a mother values a stray dog more than her own two children?

First off I want one of those cupholders for my bike. They are waay cool especially if Krispy has one. I figure about 6' X 1/4" ID Tygon tubing will be enought to suck up some joe after scaring some poor woman half to death of course with the pre ordained caveat that she was neither young nor old and deserved an ass chewing from a borderline retard who could likely qualify for a handicapped permit under the California Whine Law.

The City of Seattle in it's finite wisdom and on the prompting of a Citycouncil Chica wanted to restrict meter type parking to one vehicle/marked space. She saw a few bikes using one space and this set her on the quest to fuck us even more on parking rates. There is bike parking in Seattle, at last count about half a dozen.. The proposal led to the question that if citations were issued under the new ordinance there would be perhaps a Constitutional question of presumed guilt.

The Prez of my bike club was a fed lawyer. We called city engineering and the proposed ordinance went bye-bye. The Citycouncil Chica in her finite wisdom does not drive or have a license and is on the comittee that makes up this shit. Go figure.

Then we had for awhile some meter that had LCD readouts. They were fine until they froze..LOL
