HONDA does not sell plug wires for the VF1000R.
    So I made my own.
I got the 7mm wire for $1.00 per foot. It looks just like the original wire.
The hardest part is sliding the covering off of the wire. I used lots of silicone.
You could just cut the covering off. Or make your own rubber covering.
    These photos explain it.
I do not know the electrical value of the condensers but a good electronics tech could tell you.
If you find out a source for the condensers please post it on this thread. I am still working on it.

    Thanks!

I found out you can get condensers too. They are just to suppress noise on radios.
They are 5,000 ohms. NGK sells a complete boot with the resister or you can get it at a electronics store.
But not Radio Shack. Radio shack is not really an electronics store any more.

    Yea, ya think?

The do-it-yourselfer is a dying breed and it's harder and harder to find anything but prepackaged crap.

How necessary is the old rubber covering? What would the main disadvantage be in discarding it and just using the bulk wire without the extra covering? Thanks for the tutorial!

You could just skip it. It is just additional heat protection. It would still last for years.
I took mine off of the wire by sprayng it with silicone (Armaruol) and sliding it off but it did take me about 30 minutes.
    It was diffacult.

    I would just skip it.

Everyone needs to keep asking the manager of these big box stores to get the things we need.
    Not these prepackaged things.
For instance: Rubber hose should be sold by the foot. Not in 10 foot rolls!!! cheeessshhhh

I actually asked a clerk at a cash register if she liked learning about hardware and all the things in the store and she said she did not care.
She just scanned packages . And now......They have package scanners that the customer is supposed to use and then it will eliminate jobs.
I always ask to have a person check me out.
Many people in the big box stores NEED advise about what they are buying and the clerk should get involved before they ALL LOSE their jobs to those machines!! Right?
