    Holy Shipping Overcharge Batman!!!!!

    So I was going to purchase a Delkevic stainless header for my wife's 98 VFR800... I found the US website, found the part and wow it's only $259 for a beautifully made header. (The stock unit has more holes than Swiss Cheese apparently...)

    So I add it as some ($20) gaskets to my cart and am all set to check out.... then just before I click the final payout button, I notice that the shipping fee from Denver, CO to Dallas TX is $159!!!!!!! Is that thing ariving by private Lear Jet?????
    At $279, I thought it was a great deal... at almost $500, I think I'll be spending a few hours welding the pinholes on original unit and painting it with header paint after it is cleaned up.

    Delkevic :: Shop > Exhaust > Downpipes > Delkevic - Honda Downpipes

    Anybody have one of these??? Think it's worth 5 bones?

    EDIT!

    I just got off the phone with Luke at Delkevic... He says that the shipping weight on for that part is incorrectly listed in their back office ordering system. That is what is throwing the shipping cost waaay off. Brought the shipping cost down from $159 to $19.99! . I'm betting that glitch may have killed a few potential sales for them!! Woot! No welding and Mamma gets a new shiney part for her bike!

    what do you get for the $259? is it the header to end (full exhaust) or just north of the collector? The pix are hard to figger out as some of them show complete systems and others just the back 1/2

    You get the complete header. The slip-on pipe and muffler are not included. They do have some nice looking slip on units though and their pricing looks competitive for stainless AND Titanium.
    Gee.. I outta ask them for a sticker, what with all the free advertising I am doing! LoL

    Hey nice header - checked the mufflers on the site and they are not bad looking or too expensive. Does anyone know how the slip-ons sound on a VFR? I am planning on re-doing my VFR and a new can or full exhaust system would be nice.

    I have a slip on for my 98 and I like it a lot better than the 2 Brothers that came with it. It is all very subjective you know, what I like you may not.

    I bought the headers and the stuby muffler......... you cant use your centre stand if you use the headers..........I may try next winter to modify them , the pipe is nice, not going to use the headers this summer .......its time to ride not wrench for me. I dont think its worth the money, thats just my thoughts

    I don't have the centerstand(prev owner removed it years ago, bit gave me a swing arm maintainence stand to replace it) so that was not an issue for me. I'm not sure why it wouldn't fit for you, as these are nearly identical in their bends and routing as the OEM unit. I have pics of them side by side for comparison.

    It would suck if you can't mount the centerstand (Assuming you needed it), but in my opinion was a hell of a deal ($259 = $20s/h) considering that my OEM unit was all cracked up, and a replacement one from Honda costs $606!!!

    Weird.. I don't know why the pics won't display.. I loaded them into the photo gallery here. 21562, 21563 and 21564.. or you can search key work Delkevic.
