I am looking at 2 RWB VFRs. One is new for $7,400. The other has 1,100 miles for $5,999 (Great condition). Any advise on which one i should snatch up? The idea of a warranty for a year is attractive but is that worth the extra $1,400? Any help would be appreciated. Im looking forward to being part of the VFR Group.

You can probably talk the new bike price down since Honda America dropped the price to $6,999 for the 07' bike. That dealer is trying to make more profit at your expense. The "used" bike is just past it's break in period though so once you get it and change the oil you can "let er rip"! You really can't go wrong with either, it just about what's more important to you.

i'd go for the used one. 1100 miles on the vfr is barely past break in period.

I would go with the used bike and spend the leftover cash on exhaust!!!

I'd go used, especially since there will more than likely be dealer charges on new. Nothing is certain, but chances are you're not going to run into any warranty isues regardless of which one you choose. Honda has been making these 6 gens for some time now. Long enough to have worked out the largest and smallest of issues. You never know, but I would personaly feel just fine buying an 1100 mile '07. $1400 is enough to make some nice mods, or even just pay insurance.

I had to drive almost a hundred miles to get a dealer that would price one down. Was a much better deal than used.Have to think it must be easier to find a dealer that is willing to move a three year old bike at this point.

I'd still go used. The first thing most new VFR owners want to do after they get to know the bike a bit is to get an exhaust. It really opens up a V4's character, making the bike very distinguished from every other bike on the road. If you go used then something that may seem expensive is already covered. Plus you may find that there are some things about the VTEC that you don't like. If that ends up being the case you can get everything tuned on top of the exhaust and maybe even have enough left for some cool levers, a windscreen, some carbon fiber, or whatever else you might be into..

Does it have ABS? If not the dealer is over charging.

...better tires (stock rubber sucks), performance riding classes, some hookers on that first big road trip. The list goes on and on.

That's the normal charge you see with a new bike. He did state there were no dealer charges but unless its an ABS model then it should be $6995. That's how much mine was last month...

The non ABS model was reduced to $6995 and the ABS model was $7399. I bought mine for invoice plus tax and rode out at $7700. Our tax is 10% here...

I'm with Scubalong. I'd go new. $1400 for a warranty and the peace of mind that the bike is properly broken in is well worth the money.

I went with the used bike. They gave me a 30 day warranty. It will be in the garage on Saturday.

Depends on how frugal you want to be. that and how the used bike is? Me I'd go used knowing what I know in seeing how a bike is, I'm all about the bang for the buck, that and a VFR is pretty darn bullet proof, so no worries.. less the obvious in how it was taken care of.
