I'm still a fairly new rider but am at the point where I want to take corners harder and try out stuff like a simple wheelie. A guy who fixed my fork seals said it was impossible on this bike. Is this correct? I read only in one place online that said a carb syncing fixed this innability. Does that sound right and if so how do you sync the carbs on this v4?

You wanna stunt a VFR??? An 86 at that???? That's just wrong on SO many levels! Get a GSXR and do that crap. VFR's were not designed for stunting.

No reason for the kinds of responses posted. I have seen people do wheelies on bigger vfr's. I dont see them as goldwings or old man bikes or something, they are sportier. Not to mention, Freddy Spencer, a former World Champion Motorcycle racer takes them around tracks pretty hard. As I said Im a new rider, not a 17 year old in highschool. I was mainly just curious. Not looking at doing stoppies, burnouts or all kinds of goofy stunting you see on tv or youtube. Just a simple wheelie yes or no was all I was looking for. Not to mention lazy in Az, why would I go with a suzuki? If i wanted to dick around, I would stay blue blooded to hondas.

spencer race the 500 two stroke bikes, not the same bike we both share, the bike was model after the 1000R, dude i thought there was another thread asking us if you could wheelie?? look cjgodfryt your new at riding take it slowly please for your safety! wheelies and other stuff will come in time hone your skill alittle bit more before you start trying to tackle the big stuff you gotta learn to crawl before you walk... and now i will show you what riding out of you skill level will do..

He's right. It's safer to ride 2000 miles on 2 wheels than to ride 100 feet one one !!!

I have to agree with Squirrel and Matt. Until your 100% confident that you can handle the bike and every bit of power it has, it's better to enjoy it on 2 wheels and savor those moments than to have a few dazzling ones upright on one wheel and dumping it and hurting yourself and possibly destroying the bike in the process. I've seen it done many times up close. Not worth it.

As for the Suzuki reference, I'd rather see someone beat the crap out of a GSXR than a CBR or VFR. I am "blue blooded" as you call it... never owned anything BUT a Honda motorcycle and it's also the ONLY brand that I'm studying for at school. I'm just more into trying to fix them and care for them rather than beat em to a pulp and starve them from oil by doing wheelies. It's a personal preference. I'm just sayin....

Does anyone know if the VF500 is capable of a power-wheelie (as in no clutch drop)?

I've felt the front get very light from hard acceleration in 2nd gear.

I'm a fairly new rider and don't stunt, nor do I intend to. Just curious.
