Hey funny this post would come up. My club members are younger than me and are happy I got a Yamaha R1. Now they are calling my 2k Yellow VFR the schoolbus or a Test Bike and think I should sell it - FAT CHANCE lamo. I told them if I sell my VFR it would only be to upgrade to a 06 White VFR (even with the VTEC - yuk), I gotta get my VFR back up and rollin right. I have a heat issue and a rectifier issue. When I get the VFR back up and right I am gonna show them a test. Yes the VFR is a cult bike because it is for the biking elite who really ride and have good sense and refined taste.

In references to the motorcycling community as a whole...

With the possible exception of the early VFRs, I would NOT consider it a cult bike at all. A bike with a strong fan base? Absolutely!

it's the oddball, rarities and freaks or just a bike that stand the test of time that develop the cult status.

With the great reviews the VFR has gotten over it's still ongoing production span and the availability of the bikes you find for sale or just coming across another one on a ride makes me consider it a bike with a loyal fan base.

    American football, insanely popular.

This is a sports fan because it is widely accepted by society that this guy just likes the Packers. To someone like me who is not into traditional sports at all, I think he has a few screws lose and if it wasn't for the mass of fans would consider him to be quite cultish!

To some people anyone who owns a motorcycle is apart of a cult. We are groups of people who will go for pointless 200 mile rides with no intention of going anywhere in particular.

WEIRD! to some. Natural to others!

The Vincent Black Shadow got rave reviews at the time....but the rest of the statement generally holds true.

Unfortunately besides the RC30 & RC45 the VFR is not a cult bike outside our community. While many riders give nod to the VFRs vesitile nature are clueless to its ultimate charm, outside the city VFRs are like peoples bottoms with nearly every group out riding having at one in their midst. A flock of hard charging Sports bikes wizz past, I think " ooo there's a VFR " , a pod of tourers waft the other way again I think " ooo there's a VFR " have even seen them infiltrate to odd HD or BMW groups but excepting fans not many folks look at them wistfully with a tightening iris as one warbles by like they may with a mint quad piped z900 or Vincent Black Shadow.

    :vtr2:Of course¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡

My friends always ask me why I prefer to use the VFR instead of the CBR600RR, I respond because I feel It has something different, more attitude, there are a lot of CBRs riders, and yamaha R6 riders, and they are pretty common,
I said with pride I am the first VTEC VFR owner in my city,
this is my 3rd VFR and if I had to sell any of my bikes ( actually I'm selling the 5th gen) i would sell the CBR instead of my red VFR.

yeah, the 6th Gen's climb up her back tire and perform the Next-Gen dance on her every night in your garage. this explains the looseness & lack of grip in her rear

(just kidding drewl, your bike is not a slut :)

Ok yes I have confirmation that the VFR is a cult bike.... Both Elvis and his alien abductors have agreed that the VFR is a cult bike. They told me so. That is why their is no absolute proof of an abduction of a VFR World member...but they did state that they were interested about some "bear" guy in KY but they're signals are being jammed by some sort of aluminum helmet.
