More likely the sidestand safety switch than the clutch.

Could I have over torqued the clutch springs, etc?

Funny....the rad fan wasn't working , the temp gauge didn't work and the bike won't start now....

Plenty of battery....could it be the side stand switch?

Whoa, you are in a world of hurt!
Pardon me but I haven't been on the forum in a long long time and I have no idea what you took apart before you made the statement that it is all back together. Please enlighten me.

Since the engine won't crank when you press the start button, it sounds like the neutral safety switch may be inhibiting the starter. There is generally a switch located on/in the gearbox that senses the gear position and prevents the starter from operating if the bike is in gear unless the clutch is pulled in. Look for switches in these two locations.

The side stand safety switch is located on the side stand naturally.

I don't know if any of that helps but there it is.
