    Krispy,

Do you think I should post pix of a bike that has not been delivered yet? I did have a girlfriend that was a six footer. She was tall tail and she never bailed out on me or stabbed me either.

If you look really carefully you will find there is a pic of my 91 posted in the appropriate place. If you paid more attention you would find I said I have four running streetbikes. One other is stored and another is in pieces. They are investments. I also have custody of an old racebike that you would not have any knowledge of even if I took the time to explain to you what it is.

I know you are trying to dig using that third grade shit you learned as an MP. MP's brainwise are on the same scale as cooks in the military. You know what they say about military mess. "Just like Mom cooks, only Mom doesn't shit in it."

Any other input is of course greatly valued but try to get it right for a change. I am also worried about dudes that can't seem to make it with the fair sex and draw analogies from anal sex when discussing bikes other than Harleys.

You might be passing up a good deal on some of those bikes owned by guys in that age range unless by some stretch you have them all buttonholed as maniacs. Some for sure, but all? Naa. These bikes sell for various reasons. The guy goes racing, insurance premiums go over the top because of tickets. The guy's wife lays down the law and the bike has to go. In your case, you could just go up to Sacramento and leech off the ToeCutter to cinch down those mysterious loose engine bolts and cut yourself a real deal.

Right on. I don't own a truck. Your perception is astounding. LOL I do think that having just a little experience with trucks I can safely say that it could be that the shocks and struts may be shot on the truck you are citing as an example and there may be some of those bigass potholes there in that little trodden part of the world you seem to think is unique.

Not worried or concerned about the bike. It would be nice to have it ASAP but to worry about it is not my nature. The bucks? Naa I have sufficient funds and an ironclad receipt for the earnest money. This dealer is also a very straight guy with deep references. I check on these things.

Come on dude, those Shadows look like mini-HD's. They also share about the same HP ratings. Much better bikes but as a chica magnets they really don't cut it like a Harley in some tavs.

Now to the meat of this. Your assignment if you choose to accept it is to prove that any mention of the above guy or what he rides ever came up in conversation. As a matter of fact it looks like he is calling BS on you too.

Congratulations on your newfound domestic situation. You managed to find one that didn't hat up and head out on you.

Can't we all just get along?

We really all need to get together over a beer or two , I think things would be better over a beer or ten. Then again maybe not.:vader:

(As for the early VFs being "crap"...) I got 85,000 great miles out of my '83 VF. (Still exists out there somewhere.) Didn't race it at LeMans or anything but went all over the western US. I think the Rebel is a bit of an embarrassment.

I've got a few friends with Ducati's and they are both maintenance nightmares. From what I have seen first hand, the Ducs are the worst.

From what I have heard however is that Benelli's are the worst of absolutely ANYTHING out there and are plagued by both electrical and mechanical problems. It is an absolute shame too because some of the Benelli stuff is just absolutely gorgeous.

Agreed. For a while there Benelli made such aesthetically pleasing machinery that I was completely seduced on the level of Beretta pistols. Its truly fascinatng to observe how a company puts forth such an effort.

God cannot help you. You just got busted. Learn to live with it. BTW, if you look carefully, the term was "calling BS" and it was stated by someone else. I know you would like to be believed but when you keep making up this stuff and hoping someone will buy into it, you actually lose more ground than you gain.

Thanks everyone for their input. I know you need to be aware of purchasing a bike after someone has farted in the seat and all, it was more about the quality and design flaws from the factory I was concerned with. I should check into roadside assistance here, something I never thought about really and geeesh, at 4 bucks a year how can you go wrong.
    Cheers

The seatcover material on the 1200 may be the design flaw ol messinwithstuff is talking about. Hopefully he won't go off on that as badly as his several rants about the gas tank. Honda may have to consult with HD on a more lasting material for seats or at least a material that does not absorb odors. Something like that could do serious harm to the point of sale.

The four bucks is an add to the rest of my policy. Ya can't just buy the roadside assistance. HRC is a good deal especially if you hit any of the big races. Parking, storage for your gear, hospitality area and the roadside assistance.

If you are looking into triple A don't forget you need to have the RV package to have your bike towed or you will be left stranded.

I've never heard of seat quality being a problem with VFRs -- maybe uncomfortable, but nothing about it that would make it the "worst bike" at least. When I think "worst bike" I think mechanical problems more than anything. Newer HDs do seem to have a better quality seat cover than my Hondas, and are more comfortable out of the box too... at least to me.

There ya go proving you can't let it go again. Comprehension is key; I said I didn't feel there would be any major design flaws. That would suck if my bike seats held on to toots like my cager seats do!

    Comrehension is key

Don't redirect your insecurities at me

    maybe I'm a poet

    and VFRW didn't know it

I sure see a lot of butts that are IMO outside the norm in width, girth and overall size sitting on Harleys. Some real whoppers there that I hope are not caused by the seat material. ;)

Another of my favorite targets just popped up. AAA. Just for grins, try finding info on how one goes about getting a bike moved after finding out how much the package for bikes, RV's ect., will cost not only from state to state but county to county. They farm this shit out and what you end up doing is doing business with some tow company and putting yourself on AAA's spam list. This outfit is about on par with the BBB. Both get BB's "NWAS" rating. (NWAS=not worth a shit)

Ducati, (although better bikes than Bennili) could be included on this list. I think that the current crop of 848's are one the the prettiest sportbikes to have ever been assembled.

Billy you're such a dick, AAA is not a target and I don't use it at all.
But I know of 2 people that have had AAA for peace of mind if thier bike ever broke down and found out the hard way the AAA would not help them at all because they did not have th RV package.
The member above posted that he would look into roadside assistance, so I just wanted to let him know what triple A does NOT TELL YOU UP FRONT.
    Why learn the hard way?
