The gas tank on the 7th gen looks bigger, but we all know better. What the hell is underneath that gas tank? I thought the new engine was lighter and more compact?

The ergonomics are very similar, but not identical of course. The 6th gen's seat seems to be a little lower relative to the bars. That was the only difference I could feel.

Yep, it's available stateside. I took the pictures at my local Honda dealer, Cowboy Honda in Beaumont, Texas. The bike came in last Friday. The gen 7 comes w/o a center stand, one is available as an accessory.

Im not into it. Just cannot bring myself to like it and I gave it an honest try. It's original, but if Honda were to copy something, it should have at least been closer to the form of the BMW K1300S (but with a V5, ha!)

Absolutely nothing in common with other generation. it's a whole other animal, might as well be another brand as far as having anything to do with VFRs of the now past. makes me now go check our dealer as of last week they didn't have one.

I never thought the 6th gen was a great looking bike, but I still bought one because of what it is and what it can do. I guess as I'm getting older functionality takes precedence over style. I hope Honda does well with the 1200. I can't afford one so it doesn't really matter what I think of it.

Cowboy Honda gave me a test ride, I took it out for about 20 miles. There are no twisty roads near the dealership, mostly highways.

I like the way it looks and I like the way it rides but it did not "grab" me to the point of putting my money down.

The engine is very powerful and very smooth, the seating position and wind protection is very similar to my Gen 6, the seat is better. The throttle is difficult to modulate, hitting a bump can have unintended twisting of the throttle.

I think it is a better bike than the Gen 6. The engine is larger, it has shaft drive, and it does not have the VTEC abruptness. Is it $4k better? The market will tell.
