Quit your sniveling and suck it up! Be a man, a real man, a MANLY MAN. Pick yourself up, dust yourself off, fix the bike and cruise on. It's just another bike it's not a shrine!:pope2:

A man, a real man, a MANLY MAN wouldn't even wince at those little scuff marks on your bike. No, a man, areal man, a MANLY MAN would proudly leave them just the way they are to show off his war wounds. To let others know not to dice with him once on a bike. Throw your helmet on the ground. Get a few nicks and scratches on it, show em what your made of.

The positive is Your no longer a girlie boy. You've graduated from "those that are going down" to "those that have been down". Your a man now, areal man, a MANLY MAN! So suck it up boy.

    thank you stosh. PM sent.
right now the only thing that isnt cosmetic is that lever. bike is rideable and functional except the lever is bent pretty bad.I would try and bend it back, but im afraid it may break, then I wont be able to ride it at all.

I'm sorry dude. I have yet to drop mine, yet... She did fall over in the UHaul on my way down here, and broke the right mirror off at the stalk and got white paint on the grab handle I haven't buffed out yet... I felt sick with that, cause it was my stupid fault for not securing her better; so I feel your pain... But, like everyone's saying, better the bike then you. She can be fixed; you can maker stronger, faster than before...

Since your pic doesn't really show the extent of the damage you should provide more details on what parts need to be replaced or repaired. FYI....I've got an extra tank, right mid, and right lower in Pearl White that I would consider selling. I've also got the entire right brake assembly from my old 3rd Gen.

    Regards,
    Rollin

the picture _does_ show the extent of the damage. thats all it is - scraped up plastic.

the only reason I am so dramatic about it is because I am very in love with my bike, and very dissapointed that I dropped it.
Well, I was when I made this thread.
Still in love with the bike, not as dissapointed with myself. Shit happens, and VFRWORLD is a cheap alternative to therapy :)

I may be in contact about some of your parts, lets see what my claim adjuster has to say about it, thanks man!

I've looked into fixing a couple imperfections on mine and here's the deal if you decide to make her pristine again.

A - You're going to have a hell of a time finding decent replacment plastics for a third gen.

B - If you want the bike to look perfect you'll have to have the entire thing repainted. The twenty year old oem paint will be nearly impossible to match.

C - If you claim it on isnurance you're going to end up having the bike totaled out. This may or may not cover the cost of the repairs and as stated above the bike will be branded going forward.

My baby has two small scratches on the left lower and the mini cowl behind the kickstand has a small dent in it. It was this way when I bought the bike and it always drives me crazy when I wash her. Nobody would ever know they are there but I do and on such a pretty bike my ocd constantly chews away at me.

Bummer, but bodywork and a lever are pretty minor. Any witnesses? My drop: last fall I was pulling into my son's school to pick him up. I stopped and was going to push back into a parking spot. Got my foot caught in the grab handle and dropped it, right in front of about 30 kids and a hawt 20 something teacher. Basically it just scratched his helmet, which was on the helmet lock and acted like a slider. Reset the cool factor meter to zero.....

I'd say don't even deal with insurance - even if they don't total it and hand you a salvage title, who knows what they'll do to your rates. You're learning about paint on the wife's ride, just get a new lever, ride it while you collect up some plastics and paint them.

Yep agree with the above poster. Ouch for the de masculating factor in the school yard tho. Get a genu-wine Honda replacement lever as they kinda feel nicer than the emgo crap thats out there. I used to pay $1000.00 just in liability 25 years ago in NJ for a 600 cc bike because I needed to carry insurance and was happy that someone took me with my lousy driving record (speeding tickets up the arse). I live in Florida now and do have good liability on both bikes but no collision.
