Some may not like what he has to say sometime, But the man is a carb Guru! He has done my 1986 vfr 700 carbs (he does older ones also, and maybe newer ones?) and she runs like a top!! He goes buy the name on here as squirrelman. Love him, hate him, The guy knows his Sh""! You do need to ship your carbs to him, and reinstall them. He does warranty his work also! He does other work also, I live in Wisconsin, and he lives in Buffalo, New York. It cost me a little on shipping, BUT WAS DAM WORTH IT!!!!!! I'm a neebie when it came to buying this bike, I knew to look at the inside of the tank for rust(which it was was). Didn't pull side panels off to see carbs leaking. The wife noticed it out in the garage in the morning, and I heard about it!!! I PM'ed squirrelman and the 1986 VFR 700 is back up running, without the gas smell in the morning!!! The WIFEY is also happy. He is not afraid of speaking his mind, BUTT, He knows his SHIT! If anybody needs carb work done on their VF or VFR PM him, The guy has treated me right!! Nice guy to talk on the phone with also!

Its tough finding somebody to do carb work these days. Alot of shops have refused to work on my 93 due to its age. I need some carb work, my choke needs to be left partially on for the bike to idle properly.

Here are some of his things in his ebay store. His carb kits are complete and dead on.
eBay Seller: fngster: Parts Accessories items on eBay Motors

This is how he finishes your carbs before reassembly. He also will work with you about jetting your bike to your specific applications.

Seb will be along to confirm I'm sure but if not, here's a pic of his carbs fresh from the box from Billy...

This goes beyond a carb cleaning, this is on par with restoration and his prices are very reasonable.

He gives free advice over at the V4BBS site. Plus he's a good guy. Easy to give money to a guy like that.

I ported heads and did alot of carbs over the last 40 years, I don't have access to the flow bench anymore to do porting but I still do carbs for local people.

Keep in mind there's a big difference in prices from just cleaning and setting carbs and putting them in mint new oem or show condition.

There is not alot of parts that do need replaceing, when your carbs need cleaning! Mine were leaking at the o-rings in main fuel line connecting the carbs. We did the o-ring kit and I'm very happy! My bike is not a museum piece, but she is close! I do not need the sparkly carbs, You can not see them, unless your running her without the gas tank and air box and plastic! Look's nice apart! How did it run after? His name is SQUIRRELMAN(squirrelman). Talk too him before some Ya Ho, Talks ya into someone else. By the way someone wanted to know what I was paid too say this or start this thread! NADA! It was a surprise for a now a good friend of mine. We talked on the phone very extensively, He kept me updated on his work on the carbs, what more does a guy have too do? Besides polishing them(like some pics)! That might cost ya extra? The guy does a very nice job, knows his crap about carb! Plus their sync'ed when ya get them back! I would love too give his # out, but need permission first! Just PM'em and he'll get right back to ya! Thanks to the people that cared to listen, rexter the newbie

If your bike has a aftermarket exhaust, which my did. He knew right away, He pm'ed me and said( jet kit). These bikes are 24 years old guys, too own one is a honor! To know someone that does carbs on these bikes is priceless! Call your dealer or the guy next door, see what they'll charge ya. My Honda dealer said flat out 400.00 labor without parts. That was on a Honda Hurricane I thought about buying. I know if I lived in NY, I would being doing a apprent. under this guy! Too show ya all, I went to the dealer too get exhaust gaskets, I told him I sent my carbs out to NY to be cleaned and snyc'ed. The parts guy remembered when he tried to work on a V4, and took the carbs off and had springs flinging all over the place.(which is why he is parts guy) Which Jerry will talk ya through it from taking them off to reinstallation. Plus filling carbs, make sure your battery is charged. How is that for service? Granted you need a little mech.s in ya. You will not be sorry!

He has 2 levels of rebuild. $225 + shipping for the econo and $265 + shiipping for Primo. You send him your carbs. The econo is listed below. The big difference is the Primo gets the polishing. Some want it, some don't. He replaces all hardware with stainless allen screws which is $25 right there. Add to that new washers, nuts, fuel filter, coolant tube seals and hitch pins and it's a good deal.

    * Disassemble them completely.
    * All metal parts get cleaned in a frequency ultrasonic cleaner.
    * Float bowls and intake plenum are bead blasted.
    * Every component is inspected for damage and wear and replaced as needed.
    * Each carb is outfitted with new Japanese made float valve assy's.
    * All seals are replaced with new Buna-N nitrile seals.
    * All hardware is replaced with stainless steel allen screws, washers, nuts, hitch pins etc.
    * Pilot screws are preset to factory specs.
    * All throttle plates and choke pistons are bench synched for an easy startup.
    * Comes with a new fuel filter to protect your freshly cleaned carbs.
    * Comes with new coolant tube seals, do this while your carbs are out of the bike.
    * No plating or powder coating the tops, these are built to OEM specs.

I don't know Biilly personally so this is in no way an advertisement for his services, just telling you what he does. He has an amazing reputation on the V4 BBS site with many happy customers and I have never heard a complaint, only praise.

Glad to hear yours is running good. Now get out there and ride!

My Main reason too start this thread was to point people that were needing this kind of work, Too somebody that is a registered user of this site, a regular user and an easy guy to get ahold of. Too promote this guy's talents (squirrelmans) and love for the bikes! But instead I get hijacked by a guy promoting some guy off v4 bbs! NICE! Squirrelman, Will not steer ya wrong and does it at a Very Comp. price. Granted a guy has to take them off (ship them)and reinstall them themselves. This was my intent when I started this thread! So if it is what your looking for, Just get ahold of (jerry) squirrellman. No hard feelings everybody RIDE ON! Rexter Contact info E-mail (squirrelmanxxjerry@yahoo.com) or call him at 716-873-0672. You can call me also for a reference also at 920-723-7270.
