and now it is fucking fucked up, my fault.
    I am 100% unharmed.
I wish it was the otherway around. I can heal. She can't.
Im am tottaly not ok with any of this. I will probably delete this thread tomorro morning.
God it sucks to work so hard for something and then have it taken away.

Yeah, It stucks to drop your bike. Cracking her delicate parts and busting the cherry parts changes her, but makes her yours. Don't beat yourself up and dump her since she's no longer pristine. Thanks for shareing.

    pic.

Yup I rode her home. she is running just fine. but damnnit I want the broken parts, scratches etc etc to be back to normal.
I didnt resize the picture I left it as is, so you can see the damage.
I am also going to stick this story thru on what the insurance does for me. If it winds up being a happy story it may help someone out down the way. If it winds up being a sad story then I will just sell off all my belongings to make the bike whole again. I aint gonna live like this. LOL.

Well it only took you an hour and a half to choke down you tears of sorrow and cowboy up and post on here after you text me. Good job! Don't forget to post pics of the damage so we can torture you for all time with them. But seriously, like I told you earlier, "Bless the gear, kiss the wife and drive on". We all hate it when this crap happins. We hit slick spots, a pile of gravel, mile deep pot holes and brush it off and do what we have to.
I gotta go with nozzle, You done popped her cherry now, no excuse not to make mods that will make it your's forever! What? You think that R6 race tail came stock on Kristin's? Shit happins.... you could be on here telling us about the broken femur you got cause you were too stuipid to get away from her when gravity took over. (Gravity SUCKS: Old Paratrooper Proverb)

Dude. That's not so bad. So you were moving? I wouldn't put it on yer insurance unless your willing to have a slvaged title. That is what usually happens to bikes with this many years I think.

    Cundalini:

Bikes get dropped. It happens wether we like it or not. DO NOT beat your self up. Shit happens and move on and ride that 3rd gen.

....and don't worry about fixing it right away either becasue you will 1. drop it again, or 2. a big truck will shower you with gravel like it did me when I re clear coated my pearl white 3rd gen I once owned. That was my lesson in if I have something flawless, it won't be for long!

Keep the scratches, then nothing else will happen.

    Peace,

    BZ

When I bought my '01, it was near perfect. Now after trips and many miles, I have a bunch of deep scratches on the tank I cant explain and scuff marks all on the tail where I've used all kinds of straps. Sucks to see a bike age.

I am such a spoiled little sissy brat.
I have seen people on this board get injured on bikes, and I am sitting here whining about a few scratches.
nice show of support brothers. definatly made me thankful to have someone to vent to about it.
I will follow up with PROGRESSIVE insurance tomorro. They have been good in the past.
I just never had to file a claim because of something that was my own damn fault before.
but I guess thats why we get insurance right?
argh. thanks for the concern guys, I wont report back til I know one way or the other.

it could of been worse. Plastics are cheaper than a new tank. or time off because of a worse wreck.

Yep, gravity is a bitch/I rode my Intershlepter for years with mismatched rashed up body panels. Its no stranger to the pavement and has done alot of commuting miles. I was shamed into painting it by a friend and have no regrets doing so, matter of fact the bike looks better now than it did 16 years ago. Rides as good too. Bikers who are in it for the long haul dont let a little low side get them down. Fix up your bike, call color-right get the correct paint, and have a body shop sand it and spray it. Then get your self a nice commuter bike. Ride fast, take chances and smoke em.

That hurts man, I feel your pain. It'll all be good in the end. Do we get the details on what happened?

Today I had a left turn lane zombie threaten to pull out in front of me with the wife riding pilon. About shit myself as he started to go for it and there wouldn't have been time for me to do anything. Fortunately he changed his mind and waited. I think he was just focused on the cars behind me and didn't see me at first. On his cell phone of course...
