Was it Mares that rigged that radiator hose on there?

You saw the link I provided above of the right one?

In my photo gallery, there's a pic of mine without my fairing installed and you can see there's no hose showing like in yours. With the metal hose from ebay, the pipe fits inside the frame.

Is it going to be a problem that they have a non stock one installed?

probably flap in the breeze and the girls will notice - They'll be all ready to hop on for a ride when they see the right side of your bike, but as soon as you circle back to pick them up; they'll see the left side and laugh at you.

So other than getting caught on crap and looking silly, it shouldn't hurt anything.

I never noticed it, to be honest. Maybe I will just order another one, just to be safe.

Plus I don't want to scare off any potential female riders

If you don't go broke owning bikes, girls will take the rest... Maybe leave the hose alone so you can save more money for you and less dinners with the young ladies.

Local salvage yard or off ebay like I linked for you. Could be others there, I just linked the first one I found. And thus, the money pouring begins...:boink:

Thank you for posting larger photos. This looks to be a very clean bike.

I noticed that the rims are not factory for the '84. I am not sure what model these are from - the cut outs are not stock. Can you find out more information about these?

+1 on the radiator hose - not factory, but this should be an easy fix if the various parts are still available.

He doesn't know anything about them, other than the fact that he hasn't seen them on any other vf500f's.

Like I said, I might be going out there to take pics, what should I take pictures of?

The rims look interesting - a few photos of these would be appreciated.. Please take note of the rim and tire sizes and any markings on the rims.

For overall photos, I would place the bike on its centerstand, and take true elevation photos. In addition to these - a few detail photos, top and bottom.

Also, take the seat and side covers off and inspect the mono-shock to see if this is stock - if it is, I would recommend installing an upgrade.

These photos and notes will represent a good overall picture of this bike - of any modifications that were made along the way and the condition it is in - though I would say it is a good deal at $1,200 - barring any unforeseen mechanical issues.

will do! He is also including a bunch of other things like tank bags and an extra shock, another petcock, another seat I think and a few other odds and ends.

Also, I asked him if 1100 was ok without the carb sync/clean he said not a problem.

Congratulations on the purchase! This looks like a very nice bike at I think it was offered at very reasonable price (esp. with the extras).

Please keep us posted on the rims. I’m curious to know what they are.

Those rims look like some Honda ComStar variant of some sort. Don't know what they're from, but it ain't a VF500.
