I'm guessing that Jake Zemke is racing a national guard suzuki this year. On his facebook fan page, that is the bike he is sitting on although he hasn't really said much about the team or the league or anything. I'm guessing that is AMA. Anyway know?

Ok, talked to Norcalboy about this and he told me that this is the Jordan Suzuki team and that means Jake will be on a liter bike this season. I hope he does well. He's our only local racing at that level right now that I know of in streetbikes anyway... We have a couple pro and semi-pro superX racers I think. Here's his new bike:

Yeah, I saw that on his fan page. He's doing great. We are very proud of him. Last year was kind of a let down so it's nice to see him starting off so well.

They were great races. I watched them a few days late (<3 DVR). He won the last race by I think one hundredth of a second? It was edge of the seat racing for sure.

i'm sure it is not what the dmg haters want to hear, but the racing is gonna be the best it's been in 10 years.

Good for Jake, 'bout time he got a break...leaving honda was the best thing he ever did.

well, I think the DMG haters will still be happy as long as the racing isn't as ridiculous as it was at Seca. How many times did that race get stopped? A rider had to do a solo lap cause he missed the light? Did anyone know what the hell was going on?

The officiating sucked, but the racing was good. They have thinned the herd, all new folks at the top. This year will be even better.

If you read this article http://www.roadracingworld.com/news/article/?article=39088 you will see that common sense is returning to the grid for 2010.

SORRY, but i'm a dissenter on this issue.

I like Zemke, and LOVE racing, but i don't think it's proper to use American taxpayer money to sponser ADVERTISING to recruit undereducated, unemployed mionority , poor, or disadvantaged young men to carry out mistaken and ill-advised American foreign policy. Same with NASCAR sponsorship.

The National Guard's activities should be just that: here at home, not conscripted into supporting mistaken US foreign policy.

WE need to fix problems here rather than going abroad to impose the will of the American Power Elite and US Corporations on third world countries we know nothing about. Makes no sense for the US to spend 1 million/year/soldier just so girls can go to school.

We're supporting a corrupt government in a country where corruption is the norm and trying to change it.
Afghanistan: let the miserable, poor, badly groomed tribes fight among themselves like they've been doing for hundreds of years and stay out of their disputes.

    Squirrel,

Obviously you may have some issues with our current involvement in foreign countries, but please don't make your case by demeaning those soldiers and airmen that serve in the National Guard. I am a career military member and have been in the National Guard for over 10 years (not including my active duty service). I am not undereducated, I was not unemployed, I am not a minority, I was not poor, nor disadvantaged. And most of the fine men and women that I have served with do not fall into all these catagories (of course we have minorities, this is America, it is a diverse country). Even if they did, you forget two things. 1) We are a volunteer force, and 2) we are also taxpayers.

If you have issues with where we are and how your tax dollars are spent, I encourage you to talk to your Governor (in the case of the National Guard) or your Senators and Congressmen/women. But please, don't degrade those individuals that have chosen to serve. And if they made that choice after seeing an ad on a car or bike, remember, they still volunteered.

Can soldiers be noble in the persuit of a flawed cause ??: were Hitler's SS good soldiers because they did their job well.....just askin??

Men are sent into conflict for only one reason: to support the foreign policy dictated by a corrupt government. Men must use thier own judgement to decide if their cause is worthy and not listen to "authorities" or politicians.

Yes they can. They are noble in carrying out the objectives of their commanders and leaders. Once again, you are criticizing the patriot, when in fact your grievance is with individuals far above thier paygrade.

And I believe it's pursuit, not persuit. Just sayin.

Military service should be based upon rational analysis of the cause, otherwise you're a robot without individual reasoning.
