I have the throttle bodies off of my '99 project bike right now and they're pretty dirty. Any recommendations for a good way to clean them? I have an aqueous parts cleaner at work, and a solvent based one also. I'm not sure about using them since I'd like to leave all the injectors and harnesses attached. Can I just spray the assembly down with carb cleaner?

I was going to post the same exact question......no one has any suggestions? I prefer to leave my T-bodies on to clean then a little.

I generally clean throttle bodies with gum cutter or brake clean but sprayed onto a rag first. Just spraying it on there will not only load up your intake with solvent but also the crap you're trying to clean off. Keep flippin to a new section of rag till you get nice shiny bodies again. Don't forget to hold the butterflies open to clean the edges and the back side. Still, be ready for a little coughing and such on startup afterward.....:kaboom:
