Reg, there some way that if enough folks report a spammer they'd go right into quarantine until a MOD gets on and can ban their IP?

 

yea I did that to a couple of them. Dude was wreakin havoc quickly. Is it automated where enough people report enough of one persons posts and the board automatically bans them or does a MOD have to log in?

 

it usually takes us less than a day (closer to a few hours) unless one of us happens to be on. We have never set it up that way so I'm not sure if we could make it so that X number of bad post reports gets auto ban... It's usually not too big of a problem. The ones I hate are those crazy russian kiddie porn ones. To think someone actually logs in to put that crap on here just turn my stomach.

That's a fact, I was surprised how quick you got 'em and I wondered if it wasn't automatic. That guy had like 15posts in about 20 minutes when I started this thread. Looked like he was going right off the recent posts. If a guy like that would at least include a picture of boobs, then the spam wouldn't have bothered me none.

 

I know what you are saying though. Usually, the spammers post one to three posts then back off, but sometimes (case-in-point) they go hog wild and post all over the place. I think one a couple of years ago got up to thirty or something posts before he got nabbed. He was doing it in the middle of the night. Thanks for being vigilant and notifying us.
