A lot has happened this week... The Auburn, CA trip was a bust with probably one of my worst experiences at a dealer ever. They don't honor their internet pricing and tried to say it was a mistake and they wouldn't sell the bike (2008) at their advertised price ($9799). After making me wait while he asked his finance manager he comes back with a $300 reduction from the MSRP at $10,199 BEFORE tax, license and all the other junk piled on top of it! :asshat: Walked out... I'm glad I left; i found out the Auburn "stealer" is in chapter 11 and probably won't be around too much longer. And you wonder why...

Came back to my local dealer and inquired if any 2007 models were around to look at. After seeing the silver 2008 I wasn't impressed with the color as it seems drab compared to the 2005 silver. The last time he checked Honda America had over 250 RWB 2007's in their Torrance, CA warehouse. He didn't have one but could get a new in the crate bike in 3 days. There was another dealer with one on the floor so I wanted to see it in person before I bought it. I'd liked it when i saw it at the motorcycle show so I needed to make sure it could work for me again. It worked just fine for me! Back at my dealer he checked stock and there were ZERO left in the warehouse! My heart sunk to a new low. He checked dealers in the area and was going to try and find one still in the crate for me. The one i looked at the other dealer in the area was dirty and showed a lot of showroom handling. Well to rap this up, I'm currently holding in my hand the key to a 2007 25th Anniversary Red, White and Blue VFR800 fresh from the crate with only a 2 miles test ride from the mechanic after assembly. I'll be able to pick it up on Saturday after the battery is charged and the rain storm passes through Friday. It feels good to own one again and I can't wait to rack up the miles on my new Girl.

As for the house; the power and gas was turned on Monday midday so we're back in the house. Demo of the old garage started right on time. We have an estimated completion date of the first week in April. Things are finally starting to look up! Pictures soon!

Wayne on a Red, White & Blue VFR, that will be hard for me to get use too because when I think of the silver VFR I think of how much you loved the color. Congratulations on one of the best looking VFR's ever made

well, glad you got another bike. I think if I had to get another one, the RWB would be the one for me, too. It's the only paintjob from the factory that I have liked very much in the last 5 yrs or so...

Yeah, when i saw it at the dealership yesterday it was strange to think that it was MY bike sitting there. Even when they handed me the keys, it just didn't seem real. I guess I'll feel different when i go pick Her up on Saturday. (I still have the key in my pocket: I just couldn't put it down!)

    It's here...
All is almost right in the world again...
I picked her up from the dealership today and went on a little ride. I just couldn't leave those 2 little miles on the ODO...

As I swung my leg over the seat, it felt like I was settling in with an old friend. Everything felt familiar yet strangely different. The colors from the tank and surroundings reflected a strange menagerie of blues, reds and whites that sent a new set of emotions coursing through my veins. My thumb hesitated as it hovered over the starter button; would it feel the same as my beautiful Silver 05'? Even the tach looks odd. I closed my eyes and hoped for the best... The engine came to life and settled into same smooth syncopation that echoed in my mind on that fateful day when my 05' melted into oblivion. I had forgotten how quiet the stock exhaust sounds since I'd gotten used to the Leo Vince carbon pipes waiting for the polishing wheel in my storage shed. I closed the visor on my spare helmet and slowly eased into traffic.

After a few miles the same warm sensation started to emanate through my soul as the V4 ran through the gears and sliced its way though the afternoon traffic yearning for an open road. I could almost hear her saying, " I want to please you kind sir! I can be just as fun and exciting as my Silver brother!" We'll see I thought as I carefully scrubbed in the new tires on a set of twisties.

High above the bustling traffic I stepped off this Red, White and Blue beauty to rest and admire what a fine ride she had been.

Majestically she sat yearning for me to twist her throttle and wring out her siren song through the hills and canyons. "Just a quick stop", I though as I snapped a few shots of my new Girl.

"This is my best side", she whispered as I snapped off a few more. She had quickly found a warm spot in my heart and it made me want to mount her again to push her in new directions and familiar roads. I wound my way down to the freeway for a quick blast into the new-to-me 6400 rpm 4 valve per cylinder blast of the VTEC. Quickly she launched faster and faster... 70, 80, 90 miles per hour. "I'll take it easy, I'll be gentle. It is your first time..." I eased into the fast lane and blended in with the families stuffed into their filtered air, padded walled cages laughing at their open mouthed and blank expressions. I felt sorry for them, but only for a moment as I glided past.

Time to head home. I pulled into my driveway and parked her in front of the burned out garage. The soul of my the Silver 05' is still strong here. "Don't worry," I whispered and patted her tank to settle her nerves. "When the new garage is built, this will be your home now." She will be a fitting substitute for my beloved Silver. She pays homage to many machines before her that wore the VFR/Intercepter moniker. She is home now and all mine.

The bike is in the driveway with a new cover over it. It's all I have for another month until the new garage is finished.

I tried but I haven't learned how to bunny hop the 9 steps that lead down to the front door... Plus it'd probably end something like this guys Playstation 3...

She'd never really do this; at least I don't think so. Nah! I love her so much! Hi Honey! (Don't beat me!)

    The rebuild has begun...

Finally we have seen some movement on the garage rebuild. Here are a few updated pictures with the latest taken yesterday.

Out with the old... Nothing but the back wall left.

More to come... The roof is being finished next week and then the siding goes on. Thanks for reading!
