Can some one enlighten me on how you take off the orig vfr bars,so i can attempt to put on a set of helli bars.any help much appreciated.
The clip-ons come off easily, four bolts and remove the little ring thingy on top of the fork tubes. You have to be careful how you mount the brake and clutch cylinders so the lines and banjo bolts don't rub the forks or top clamp. Have fun!
No problem. Lemme know what you think of the bars. Mine came with helis on it and I've wondered what the stock ones where like.
... same here. My bike came with Helis (or home made copies). Been thinking about going back to stock.
There is a little more to swapping bars than loosening the pinch bolts. Grips sometimes have to come off, hydraulics on VFR's unclamped and some attention paid to getting the detent in the throttle assembly in lined up. If going with a setup like a Throttlemiester there may even be some machining necessary. Best to check with Heli on how to. They don't make all they used to make except as custom orders. Do the job wrong or half assed and ya might find steering a bit dicey..
Dang it. You guys are 3rd and 4th in line, respectively. And respectfully. But I really just want to pick up a set of stock bars without working a trade. But cheap of course! I'm not sure if I'll want to keep the Heli Bars or not.
