I did a search and didn't come up with anything on this so here it is....

Do you have a name for your bike?

When I got my '02 my wife didn't know if it was my 3rd child or the other woman. One of our friends pointed out that it had to be the other woman becase I ride it and all . With that being said my wife chose the name "Jezebel" for her. She said the name was a bit slutty and fit the other woman scenario to her.

So there ya go... 2002 Red VFR800, AKA "Jezebel".

I tend to not name inanimate objects. I've tried but never been able to come up with anything good so I gave up.

I give everything important to me a name. I stick with names that are a bit "country" such as Floyd, Lamar, Hershel, Rodney etc.
I call my 5th gen "Virgil"!

My VFR750 (sold) was named "Lola" because she was a sport bike and a touring bike,
after the song by the Kinks, which, if you know the song ...

My VFR800 is named Sydney, after the character on "alias".

My 02 is called Vanessa. The 82 KZ440 is called Kira. My 87 Dodge Dakota is called Mia. Strange, maybe but that's me and believe it or not the family (wife included) named the truck and the Kawi.

I've named every vehicle I've owned, helps me when I talk about it to friends instead of referring to them as "it" all the time. My family's minivan was named "Clifford" by my daughters cause he was big and red, while my 86 Mustang GT was "Lil Suzi" after the Tesla song. My 98 Contour is "Chrissy" from 3's Company cause she is dainty and an attention whore (always wanting something fixed) and my girlfriends Jeep Patriot is "Biff" cause he's big and bad ass.

As for my VFR, the previous owner had the privelage of naming her and out of respect when a person tells me that they've named a vehicle I keep it going (old habit). So, her name is Maxine - after the old crabby comic strip lady LOL. Aparrently she was a bit fussy and crabby towards the previous owner learning how to ride on her, not exactly the best choice for a female newbie IMO, but it was a good match up after she got used to riding her and she was in a good home for 10 years.

I doubt Maxine will be crabby towards me after I'm done rebuilding the carbs and adjusting the valves, but the name fits right now. Fired her up after getting her home the first day and the woman was not happy to be awoken from her slumber! :D
