if you are riding off season (pre-Easter) or not on a weekend, you should have the joint to yourself. I ride with electronic aids that make this less of an issue. The roads are twisty enough that speed is less of an issue than skill and sightseeing (beautiful).

Also the roads around Hot Springs (just south of the route) are awesome too.

here is a shorter (morning ride)

I think we should be fine if we take it easy. Not expected to get more than a foot or two and I've got a new back tire. Might want to wear layers though.

    "Move to Virginia" they say.
"We hardly ever get more then 4 inches of snow" they say.
"You'll be riding your bike most the winter" they say.

    Yeah, RIGHT!

My wife in MICHIGAN has LESS snow on the ground than we do!

I got the same story before I moved to VA. I want my warm weather and clear roads back.

Im afraid of the pot holes. ive already hit like 4, in the car, that would surely crack the front wheel and forks at a minimum.

it never gets completely clear, but most of it is gone by mid summer.

I demolished a rim on my Corvette last spring that way. That was an expensive pothole.

By June we will be OK for Riding Gravel Free. All we need is some good Heavy Rain. That will get most of the crap off the road that and normal traffic.
That is another reason Fall is the best riding around here. Consistent temperatures, Low Humidity, little to no road debris. All make for good riding.

THose.. SUk .. you need an alignment and a new tire and wheel etc... That blows If you hit a hole hard enough to blow the tire your alignment is gonna be busted.

    Sorry you caught one.

Crap, I broke the windshield on my truck, cleaning the ice off it... Just got it replaced today, luckily insurance covered it... Gotta be more careful, I guess banging on it with my scrapper is a bad idea...

I had a little tiny star fracture. Not in my line of sight and barely noticable. Went out and started her up, hit the defrost and went inside for another cup of coffee and the news. When I went back out that star had turned into a four foot long crack and I needed a new windshield. I hate winter.
