Hi all need a new back tire the old tire is a metzleler was looking at a shinko i hear that they are a good tire can you mix tire brands say back shinko front metzeler thanks
Depends on how hard you ride the bike & your riding style. Generally stick to one brand/type front/rear, so profiles and compounds match.
I have heard that shinkos are a good tire lately also but I have also heard people saying that Hyundai is making a good car these days. I dont believe either one. I think someone has been doing some successful marketing. If you search this site you will find a current thread regarding tires, people seem to like the continentals, pirellis, metzlers and bridgestones. There are many different models depending on your riding style.
+1, mixing brands can be done but it doesn't mean that it should be done. The comment here about matching rear and front profiles is very important. If the lean angles and/or the degree of the shoulder incline don't match up it can cause all kinds of hell in regards to handling. It may only get noticed under semi-sporty riding and will get worse the harder you ride, but I think it best not to do it all. Even if you're taking it easy.
