I had a similar conversation with a squid a couple years ago.

I never shared it with anybody because I thought it was an anomoly and nothing more.

Basically the conversation started out OK at the gas station, then he decided to take it into the same territory as the gas station clerk, except with personal attacks.

It started out with the usual bike banter then...

When he asked if I do wheelies and stoppies I said "No, thats not really the type of riding I am into" (I did not say it like a dick either). He then asked what riding I do like to do: "A little bit of crusing around on the street with the occasional track day". He then looks down at my knee pucks and then launches into how he can drag a knee better than me, is faster, has a faster bike rode an 8 mile wheelie, had sex with more women than me, makes more money than I do and is a member of MENSA (which I am not), etc, etc. Ok the sex, women MENSA thing is a joke, but it was damn near that bad. At first I thought his kid had an odd sence of humor; nope he was that much of fuckin idiot. Once I realized this asshat, who had no gear on except a helmet (and exclaimed earlier he had no riding suit) ol' BZ was a bit bent out of shape. I'm not much of a fighter, but I was seriously pissed at some of the shit he said to me. I stared at him in silence for a moment, closed the gas cap, put my helmet on fired up and drove off. As I looked in my mirror he was still standing at the gas pump with a goofy look on his face.

I'm sure we all have stories about people that have exaggerated that it is almost laughable.

Personally, I had a job, between IT jobs, making pallets. With ex-convicts. This one douche said that his dad at one time owned this local company, that local company, blah blah blah. One of the companies he said that hsi dad owned was actually the father of the owner of the company I worked for. I just kept nodding, laughing to myself. He was only there for about 1 week. Luckily.

OK i did the math: at 385MPH in 3.2s you have to cover 1806.9333333333334ft or more simply 564.6666666666666875ft/s. Now the speed of sound is 1129 feet per second so he would be going half the speed of sound right off the line. His bike defys the laws of physics in that he would need a thrust of 50,000 lbf not to mention where do you think his front wheel would be? even with a drag race setup it wouldnt be on the track. I say you ran into one of those hopefuls that look to impress real riders while they play rider on their X-Box.

1. By my calculations that's an average acceleration of about 5.5 g's. Observation #1 is you'd have to hold on like hell, Observation #2 is that a tire's maximum coefficient of friction is good for about 1.2 g's, Observation #3 is that he just wheelie'd out from underhimself.

2. Assuming bike and rider together weigh about 600 pounds, to impart that much kinetic energy in 3.2 seconds takes about 2,000 horsepower Must be a fancy fuel mix he's using!
