    Guys,
Unfortunately when you strap on the helmet, jacket and gear you are drawing them out ....the want to "one-up" everybody drives them.....Whether its fantacy or fact they spew forth
what they feel will make them look "good/cool" in others eyes....is sad commentary on life but true.....

Oh no, you should look for his car and stop in when you see it. Then encourage him by saying things like "Whoa dude" in response to his whoppers. Then gently suggest other topics to elicit even greater stories. Be careful here though, just guide the conversation, appearing too eager will tip him off. And no laughing out loud no matter how funny, that makes them clam up right away, pretend to sneeze or something. There's no end to the fun you can have with this, hell you could write a blog on it. You have already started a thread about it.

I know, I know, its mean and pathetic. Not when you really think about it, think of all the creativity he's exhibiting.

Ask him about his piercings, or tell him you are a fan of Slick 50, or tell him you have Tourette's and you sometimes just yell, "MORON MORON MORON" for no reason.

Ok I was bored...If I did this right he would have been going 188 yd/s (565 ft/s). He must be coated in slick 50 to go that fast.

He's trying to say his gixer does 0-385...now...maybe, just maybe, he had to repeat 5th grade for...i dunno, 10 years...giving him ample time to be on the show twice...

Just the idiocy of his claim makes this possible...

Also...maybe he thinks he was clocked in mph when he was really clocked in kph...385 kph = 240 mph. Still a tad bit high...but much more realistic...

Don't top fuel drag bikes get going that fast?

My "the rocketman" post earlier shows that a rocket car can reach the speeds claimed.
That's what it takes.....a Hydrogen Peroxide rocket car.

so maybe he was telling the truth.........

Those are overall LSR's. Very strict rules about timing and necessary two way runs. There were faster "bikes" than Munro's Indian but what he did with what he had and the shit he went through to get to Bonneville is a record that will never be broken. If Bonneville was always runnable and was at sea level it would be much faster than it already is for aspirated reciprocating engines.

Check out the second Curtiss with the V8. Same displacement as a 59A block. As the stories go, the engine went into an airplane and the rest of the bike was recycled (yep, pun intended) The bike has been replicated and is in the Curtiss Museum in NY.

Check out the overall LSR set by an unmanned rocket sled at Holloman AFB. Part of the run was done in a tube blanketed with helium. Haulin ass bigtime.

If someone good with google finds a vehicle capable of this, PLEASE post a link. I will share it with someone! :)
