Thanks Matt, I'm itching to work on the bike, been too freaking cold in the garage! And you'll get a chance to try the new 'n improved bike!

Dan, please, I repeat, please don't feel pressured to keep up. I'd rather wait than call up the paramedics. Hell, my first time at blood mountain I was the world's slowest rider, even cars were passing me. Just enjoy the ride and company!

most excellent! i can't wait to ride with y'all (sans the flying exhaust). i'm not sure how we'll do this. maybe breakup the group into various rider levels (eg. group 1 = fast riders, group 2 = newbies and cautious riders). as long as someone knows the route in group 2, no one will feel left out or get lost. we can discuss (over our favorite beverages :boozer:) where and when we ride which route on that sunday night ( silver patron on me...you north ga riders know what patron is, right?) or monday am (over my deeeelicious b'fast :hungry:...remember, i'm the b'fast chef and kd4ysi is my assistant! :sorry:).

btw, i've heard that tony is faster on the grill than he is on the tarmac!

Not a problem, believe me if I think the group is running to fast for my likings, I will slowdown. I know everyone has there own riding style.. and some people are better than others on a bike. Just do me a favor..keep in mind that all of us are not going to know the roads like some of you. This will be unfamiliar territory for some of us, but thats part of the fun.

To all the guys planning on attending this shin dig wether you are from out of state or simply more of a relaxed pace kinda rider the important thing to remember is to ride within your own limits. This can't be emphasized enough. It can be all too easy to get sucked into a corner on an unfamiliar road by a group of more experienced riders. Who ever is leading the group needs to constantly be aware of this. Set some ground rules before starting out. Make sure everyone knows the designated route and stop to regroup whenever changing direction. Keep a safe following distance between each other ( I like the 2 sec rule) and always check periodically on the guy behind you to be sure he's still with the group. It may be helpful to establish some simple hand signals that everyone can understand as well. In closing we all like to brag a little about what good riders we are, my adivice is DON'T TALK THE TALK IF YOU CAN'T WALK THE WALK. Ride with a slower group first and see what the pace is. Don't wait till you go off the road and face plant a tree. With 10-15 people (perhaps more) you may need several different group leaders for each ride. Always ride safe.:thumb:

Yeah we'll back up our biker bros, we're not gonna be like, "hey was there supposed to be another guy here?" The great thing about most of the routes is that there are barely any intersections and there's really only 1 direction you can go. You'd have to try hard to get lost unless you happen to ride a dirt bike!

Proper Riding Gear....... No ones mentioned it yet, but I think it's important enough to throw out there. Everyone needs to wear proper protection. If you don't have any get some! Motorcycle specific boots, gloves, helmet, jacket and pants IMO. So many injuries can be prevented with the proper gear. Don't show up in jeans and sneakers. I'm just saying!

I should be able to make it out and bring 2-3 other VFR riders with me. What are the official dates now? We will be riding in and out, not staying the night (most likely) as we live about 75 miles away.
