Normally you can find F2 front wheels on eBay in the $100-125 range. It's actually kind of handy that you can't use the rotors because they are usually a lot cheaper without them. If you do buy one with rotors you can always sell them off and recoup some of the money.

today i had to make a hard decision after pulling all of the body panels off the bike did a look at everything the plan was to stripe the bike down and replace rebuild redo re whatever, well i cant do it! there nothing wrong with anything on the bike the frame doesnt have any rust on it nothing wrong or broken! so i will say sorry to those of who read this thread thinking there going to get to a page where i pull the whole bike down, not going to happen now should change the name of the thread to modernizing a vf500  i will work on the front end this winter do the carb swap and few other things i had in the works.

Why is that a tough decision? When you are lazy like me and only work 60-70 hours per week you jump at the chance to not have work on something!

well i got the fan kinda mocked up i'm gonna make a bracket that attaches to where the radiator mounts to the frame i've already cut the plug off the stock fan going to use it with the new fan so this will be sorta plug n play thats about it for now

You should not be working that close to those forks! Man, I was super careful not to scratch them. Haven't you seen what a radiator can do to some knuckles, let alone some sweet red powdercoating!

All kidding aside, thanks for the photos. Fans are like any other electrical device: they can and will fail. It's nice to see this as a performance upgrade as well as a means to replace the stock parts with more readily available (and probably cheaper) options.

Thank you for posting the photos. This looks like a nice upgrade for the VF500F. Please keep us updated on the development of the design for the mounting bracket

Be sure that when you hook up the Fan it spins the right way.

    It should be a puller....yea?

Congratulations! It looks like you are making good progress & thank you for posting the photos.

Will you be using the larger CBR600F/F2 rotors vs the stock VF500F rotors?
