Awe. ha... here's the thread I was looking for, which BTW is one of my gripes

Okay, I have given the new VFRW look a few rounds thinking it is pretty much nailed down. Two things bug me, and just maybe a few others here might agree.

    1. the title of the recent activity thread needs to be white, blue, green or red or something that stands out. it's lost in the page. Not that I don't know where it is, LOL but it doesn't grab you when you do a quick glance , So in turn this has me looking more into detail than I think one should, an example is the date shows up more than the title, I would like to believe it is the title that should get ones attention right off the bat.

    2. Not a deal breaker by no means, the recent activity layout is to short of a list. doesn't take to many new posts before a current thread is gone off the main site, then you need too if you have reason not browsing to go find it. I preferred what there was before on the old site as far as list size goes, that IMO was spot on. Other wise it's all good, nice job Michael.

They do not respond to left clicking, and there is no "help text" when the mouse arrow is allowed to hover over them. I do get a drop-down menu on the Fonts, Sizes, etc. windows on the top row, but selecting on one of the displayed drop-down choices does nothing.

I'll probably try upgrading Firefox, and hope that none of my other applications become incompatible with it. Either that, or limit my choice of smilies to the 12 that are displayed (I can read the properties and type them in).

If they work for everybody else, I can only assume the older browser is the problem.

If there's any way you could attached a screenshot of the page you are looking at, that would definitely be helpful. Thanks!

Nothing we can do to change the color of the title I'm afraid, so just have to get used to it.

Ask and you shall receive, it has now been updated to show the last 10 threads. A couple of hints:

    1. You can click on "What's New" at the top and it will show you everything new since your last visit.
    2. If you click on Forums and then Quick Links, you can choose the last day, last three days, or last 7 days of posts. This might be helpful to some.

    Enjoy!

Subscribed threads used to send only one email notifying of updates, even if there had been multiple replies to the thread. Another email was not sent to notify of updates until the forum/thread was visited. This has changed since the update, and I sometimes receive 6-10 notification emails for updates on the same thread.

Can this be changed to the old style please?

    Thanks

here's the code you used: [IMG]
here's just typing in the location: http://www.usgunowner.com/photohost//is.php?i=834&img=IMG00120.jpg

here's using the button and typing the location in the requester:

    is.php?i=834&img=IMG00120.jpg

My god I'm a tard. I looked and looked and couldn't see it. I thought it was more likely to be an Id10T error and clearly it was.

I find it faster to type my code rather than using the image requstor. When I upload the image to my photohost, I highlight/ctrl-C/ and then jump to thread and type my code/ctrl-v to paste and done deal. Was in a hurry when I made that thread and somehow missed copying the dam http prefix...

Sorry man, thanks for the patience.

    tink is an :asshat:

Hi Reg, the settings are the same, set to "Instantly, using email". But the thing that is different is that the forum does not seem to recognise that I have not visited, and therefore sends out a message for each post. The email itself says "There may also be other replies, but you will not receive any more notifications until you visit the forum again." This is the feature that is not working.

That is , unless I change the editor......must be something to do with how the program manages file attachments

Well, all of the smilies work now in "Reply" mode. But I did just replace an old CRT with a widescreen LCD monitor, new video drivers et al, and had to restart the PC about 5000 times to get it close to right. Regardless, it seems to be OK now. :biggrin::confused::rolleyes::kaboom::juggle::unsure::lol:

Yep, I just noticed that if you attempt to download any size file pic from your computer it will only post in thumb size. If you change the editor in the upper right corner of the post reply screen, it will change the editor so that it uploads from a URL only the way we used to do it. Then the pic will post from a host site in whatever size it was downloaded.

Could be I havent attempted enough larger size pics as downloads directly from the pc to the thread post. But I have noticed that in the file attachment manager that I would have different size jpegs ( when youre in that page you can see the jpeg sizes underneath them) that were only showing up as thumb size in the posts and blogs. Also, if you dont change the editor to the old style it will post pics from URL host sites in thumb size only.

But if when youre posting to a thread and change the editor to the old style URL download, it posts them fine.

Seems to work fine for me. Did you click on the little pencil on the photo and select "Full Size"?
