Looking good, I like change. The "+Reply to Thread" buttons aren't working for me. Using Firefox 3.5.4 for OS X. Can't wait for the custom skin tool, that should be cool.

Ok, I want to get rid of the annoying chat at the top of every thread. The old "Disable Chat" group doesn't seem to work anymore and I can't find a setting for it. HELP!

jasonsmith - Yes, the ads will definitely go away for Insiders. Apologies that I wasn't able to configure that yet, but it's high on my list of priorities. In regards to the "Reply to Thread" button, it's working fine for me. Are you getting an error message or anything?
JamieDaugherty - Yes, we will also get the "Disable Chat" group working, shouldn't be a big deal and will get that done ASAP.

At the top of the page.....change FORUM to FORUMS

I haven't tried it yet, but I hope being able to post a photo on the forum pages will be a lot easier than before.
We should be able to take a photo out of our pictures file and post it without having to go through PhotoBucket. My pics do not have URLs.

I thought the pages were going to stay black. Maybe set up a poll and see what color background the members would like.

Thanks for all of your hard work.

    MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE

I'm seeing an inconsistent navigation bar. If I go to http://vfrworld.com/forums/forum.php I see several links such as FAQ, Private Messages, etc... but if I go to VFRworld - The Front Page The FAQ, Private Messagtes links are gone.

This is not a bug report but what is the difference between a blog and a thread? I mean they all start with an original post and people reply to it... Am I the only dumb one here?

BTW, the new look is very professional!! Kudos to your hard work.

Not a big deal I see in my calendar entry: VFRworld Event Calendar my profile image is waaaay too big and blocks out the text in the calendar entry.

Also, it would be super cool to automatically to set links to a different color such as red or blue because it's hard to tell if text is a link unless your put the mouse over it.

I liked the drop down menu when you hovered over the "forums" button on the main bar. Could that be brought back? I liked being able to get to the 1st/2nd gen section from the main page in one click.

Cundalini - I'm afraid I don't know what you mean about the 1024x768 thing. I am running at that resolution and it looks fine to me. Lower resolution makes the type bigger, not smaller. Perhaps your browser is doing something funky, because the font of this version of the site is larger than before the upgrade.

Michael, I checked on all the other PC's in my house and the site looks fantastic. It is just my laptop that it looks crappy on ( and that I can fix ).
Deleting previous posts so I dont confuse any members out there.
My bad. Thanks again, and Merry Christmas.

    EDIT:
Just found the answer to my other questions.
    step one: open beer.
    step two: logon to vfrworld.
    step three: click settings button.

that shows all my recent activity. Nice. I am liking the new vfrworld!

The navigation bar changes based on the "main" menu area you are in. The second row of menu items are specific to the menu you are in. So if you are in "Blogs", you will see items such as "Blog Settings".

In regards to your question about blog and thread, I couldn't agree more, they have always confused me too. :) I found a small article here that might help: Understanding the difference between Forums, Blogs, and Social Networks Web Strategy by Jeremiah Owyang | Social Media, Web Marketing

Right on brother - glad you got it to work. As with any new technology, we're going to encounter some hiccups. That's one thing - it's really hard to make a site look nice on every browser in every resolution!

    Done!

From what I can see, it's easier. Although with the old system it was just a matter of uploading them as attachments. But the attachments system seems more user friendly.

Actually the plan is to offer both. Some people like black, some a lighter color. The problem is there is no yet a nice looking black one offered for this version, so we are waiting for someone to release one (shouldn't take long) and then we'll let YOU choose which one you prefer!

    Merry Christmas!

It is because I had just reinstalled windows last night. I figured vfrworld was down, so I had a few hours to reinstall :)
I didnt realize it, but all of my sites would have looked wierd, but I came to this one first. LOL.
Updated to IE8 and all is good now.
