Photo Contest

I don't think clowns are funny. They're actually kind of creepy. I've thought a lot about this, and I believe it goes back to when I was ten, my family went to the circus, and a clown killed my dad.

Santa is a little too much like a clown to me as well...

 

I can't believe it. I got suited up and went out to comply with the latest challenge. Found a Sally Anne kettle and dropped in a bit more than a quarter. Someone was standing there and took a photo of me, the bike and the lady at the kettle, with my camera no less. Get back and the picture is not there. Damned. I had a good challenge lined up too. But no regrets. Sally Ann benifitted from me once and this forum a second time.

And don't you guys be complaining about the cold:

Ok, so you're WAAAAAY farther north than I am and probably ride in much more frigid conditions than I do much more often. You win, just wanted to rib you a little!!:biggrin:

 

I didn't realize just how far south Maryland was until I looked. You're sitting right about 39.2 degrees N. West Coast equivelent on the I-5 in California would be Willows Ca. That is where I got pulled over an my way back from Slo III So Bud, your latitude stinks.ound:

Yup. My latitude here is 49.2 so I guess you are right. But those who live east of me are one heluva lot colder than me.

OK. Today I went back out. It id warm up. Was a nice -1c today.



This was my second trip to the same spot but different volunteers. Sally Anne has done well by me and this Forum this year in Chilliwack.

Keeping in the spirit of charity and also in support of one of our most noble proffessions, I challenge everyone to go shake the hand of one of their local Firefighters and have a photo of your steed in the presence of a Firefighting hero, a group of them or in front of some Firefighting apparatus.

Firefighters around the world also do their part not only in their duties on a daily basis, but also in support of Burn Units at many of our hospitals. Hundreds of departments have "Boot" campaigns or the such to raise funds to assist people in need after experiencing the devistation of a fire. So a picture of you making a donation for such a cause is a bonus. I also see the potential for a great 2011 calendar pic here too. Especially if an old piece of equipment becomes involved.

As an example but not in the running:



Chilliwacks department serves its community well not only with the paid proffessionals, but we also have many volunteers Firefighters as well.

This is a busy time of year for our Firefighters. Please be careful ensuring you keep your homes safe given the fire hazards present at this time of year.
