Ok. I got bored today so decided to make my own custom Triangle plates for the rear suspension on my 99 Gen5.
I had previously turned the stock plates around to lower height but now decided I wanted to go further to see how its was.
ok the the distance between the top holes doesnt need to be changed from stock so it remains 70mm, the other 2 sides are 76mm & 55mm. These measurements are taken from the center of each hole.
Now there are 2 plates & depending whether you want the bike extremely low or extremely high you just turn them over keeping the same side to the top.

At the high setting this will put ur seat height at 850mm & at low setting seat height will be 770mm. So you can see there is a difference of 80mm which may not sound like much but trust me its a lot.

If you use the high setting you will notice 2 things. the bike only just rests on the center stand. its enought to keep it standing but may not take much to knock it off. a board under the stand will help to rectify this.
The second thing is that you will notice the centerstand will hit the rear tyre when not in use. I fixed this by making an extended rubber stopper from the original spot on the exhaust which stops the stand going all the way up & resting on the tire.

Dont forget to re-adjust your chain each time you make changes to height.

I know a post like this is not a real post without pics so here you go.

Have you had a chance to do any substantial riding yet? I ask because that seems like a fairly dramatic adjustment and am wondering if it has negatively impacted handling. Especially with turn in speed and overall ease of movement from side to side in tighter corners.

I bought the Thurn Motorsports one. Raised the rear 25mm (1 inch).

    Cool brother.

Yeah, I've been thinking that I will cahnge over to the 19mm riser from Thurn for some quicker turn in. Any effects on straight up stability that you've noticed?

None yet, But I haven't done a track day on them either.

From what I know, the plates do not have any effect on the front end stability. 02VFR has the 19mm riser and he's noticed no ill effects. Thurn seems to know what to do, so I wouldn't worry. Nice mod.

Once I get on the track (next year) I'll report any positive or negative findings.
