that was a sobering video.......be safe everyone......whether you caging it or riding the bike......

 

Thanks for posting this. It's brutal but it might make someone think before they hit the road. It also reminds me to be watching more carefully for those who do drink and drive.

I live in Australia, and these ads still shock me when they come on.

I wish this would air in the states.

Yes. A great "Public Service" message. We need them here too. I have seen more than I care to and have knocked on more doors than I ever wanted to. Every part of this is ugly.

Most communities have a Dedicated Driver program or "Operation Red Nose" or something of that nature yet so many fail to make use of them. You should count on alternative transportation home when going out. Simple.

 

Stick forty bucks away in your wallet thats earmarked "cab fare". or just make sure your DD stays sober.most bars , if not all, offer free soda to the DD if you make it known when you get to the bar

 

I dont drink or smoke...but it would surely suck to get hit by someone who has...

 

That's a pretty nice reminder of the shitty fall out. I agree we need to see this more than once here state side. ain't reality grand.

 

+1. We need ads like that here. Maybe (and that's probably stretching it) people would respond more to ads like that than the 'possibility' of being arrested or involved in a crash for impaired driving. People have been told 'don't drink and drive' over and over and over, for over 20 years now, and still it happens all the time.


Rant on: The penalties for killing someone with your car in America are shamefully light. Kill someone with a gun or knife and you get 10-20 years or more. Kill someone with your car 'cause you were drunk and you'll likely only get a couple years in prison, if that. What an effin' joke.

I say, make an example of a few people and see what happens. Post their mug shots and prison terms in BIG LETTERS at the exit of every bar as a warning.

IMO, driving drunk is just as dangerous as waving a loaded gun around in a crowded room. If fact, maybe it's worse, 'cause in a crowded room at least people could see the gun and run away. In a car, they can't tell you're a menace 'til you ram into them.

I think we all have with very few exeptions. Most of us have gotten away with it without harm to ourselves or others but as we all know it only takes a slight loss of consentration for a second in time to make a world of difference in a life(maybe yours, maybe someone elses)Be carefull out there and think about your actions not only for yourself but for others too is the moral of the story.

 

We all make errors in judgement form time to time, especially when we are young. I am no exception. But errors and mistakes are the greatest learning tool we have, so long as we learn from them. And hopefully we learn before tragedy happens. If we can reduce the number of tragedies by running well thought out and prepared Public Serivce Announcements, or presentations to the schools, then, we as a society are negligent if we do not do so. Lobby your representitives to increase such adds and presentations.
