Its the little "M" on the round thingy .it stands for manual... if you have a point and shoot it doesn't matter you can't manually focus any way...but here is a trick... point the camera at an object let it lock on that one...... then pan back over to your subject object.don't let off the button or you'll be doing it all over again........
..are you ssure thats a VFR in the pic....... looks like it could be the loch ness monster..... :pound:

Nicely done Meatloaf I give it two :thumbsup:

I think large Fstop (small aperature), slow shutter, no flash, monopod.

A large aperature would allow too much light in from the bulbs and wash out the picture. With the smal aperature (large number Fstop) you can control the light allowed in by the shutter speed.

We'll seee if the crustmasterphotoextradinair agrees

Its not just point and shoot. Way too many options to mess with and "auto" doesn't do so well. Night mode does quite well if I have it on a stand, but I didn't have it with me on the bike and my shaky ass hands don't work so well.

Do I have the official word from the judges so that I can post the next challenge?

Toe said I win via chat... does that count? I don't think we should change rules mid-contest. Adding the for clarification is ok so that someone doesn't pull something lame. I'm not saying the other xmas light pic was lame at all... but I could see someone buying a box of lights... plugging them in behind the vfr in the garage... and snapping the pic. The clarification on this one was OK IMHO to get a better picture. The time extention shouldn't be OK as it changes original rules.

I say we start another thread for Xmas related photos. As many as possible should be collected and we can use them for the next calendar. Maybe a theme calandar based upon pics that fit holidays per month would be an idea.

What say you Metallica? You're the previous winner.

Challenge: Lets see a VFR in front of a police station with the front tire in the air. I don't care if it is city, county, or state police. Special props if you can get the pic with the police in the background looking at it. Two wheels in the air do not count and the rear wheel must be on the ground.

You want the front TIRE in the air, but the rear WHEEL on the ground, hope there's some soft ground in front of those cop shops or we're gonna have some scratched up dented rubber holders!!

And I like the idea about the seaparate thread for Christmas pics, Meatloaf, you should probably have the honor of starting this one.

I didn't mean it like that LOL. Bike should remain intact with tires on both wheels. We aren't trying to sacrifice VFR's here. Just get some good pics.

    maybe epic fail...?

Even if this doesn't count, I still got to take my wifes bike out in the rain to snap a pic of this early christmas present from a buddy, in front of the nearest police station I could find.

No offense LEO's its just a joke, not a real sentiment. :)

As you can see guys, all I got is a phone, no camera.
Two megapixel, no flash. It does pretty good in the day time, but night time it sucks.
Crusty is probably rolling in his grave.
