Ok, I'm now looking at exhaust's and am keen on the Leo's and 2 bros. But which one's better, I know it's a loader question.
My concern with the 2 bros is that one can only is working, seems a bit strange but I also know the reasons why. I'm looking for a deep v8 type sound, you know nice and meaty:biggrin:

Well what do you people think?

Since I got Two Bors, I would say go with the Two Bros.

Then again, don take my word for it. I only run on one can at any given time. If you know what I mean

more torque then the others too, thanks to the 4 into 1
best looking IMO. (the M-2's... I'm not fond of the circular stash model)
great sound...on par with leo, but more charchter
the only reason for two cans, whether one or both are operating, is nothing but aesthetics, or emissions if you want to get technical. Bike looks silly with empty space back there.

By the by... did I see Stuka mention micron? The now defunct Micron that had terrible quality control issues, or was that a figment of my halucination?

In fact the 2 Bros. are a few DB louder than the Leo's. Even luoder when you remove the gold silencing tips.

Spend a couple hours and perform the full gut on the stock exhaust. I just put mine in the other night and it's a better, meatier sound then what the aftermarket pipes produce. I researched and listened to every aftermarket exhaust for weeks and finally decided on the gut. There's a link to how to do it on here in the "exhaust articles" section.

Go here --> YouTube - 2004 vfr800 Gutted Exhaust and fast forward to 1:38ish and listen from there. This isn't my bike, but it's what mine now sounds like...he's on this site.

The sound is subjective, to me gutted pipes sound rough, like the bike isn't running properly. That's because it isn't. I'm not trying to start WWIII here or anything as I know a lot of people gut the stockers, but the fact remains that it is a downgrade in performance. No matter how small or how big, a performance drop is still a drop. If you're OK with that, then gut away.

Plus IMO the stockers look like hell, and no matter how much junk you tear out of the can, the weight savings will never be close to aftermarket. I think most of us would agree that shaving 12-20 lbs off of the bike, up high and behind the wheel, is a good thing.

How is removing restriction a downgrade in performance? I'll agree with you on the weight savings, but I disagree on the bike running improper and having a downgrade in performance.

I gutted my factory pipes...A little extra power with a lot more sound. I was suprised that after I installed my 2Bros exhaust that it was quieter than the gut job. The bike runs much better with the 2Bros than a straight gut, why??? Thats what the next 37 posts will explain....Take it away

Compression, compression, compression, and all of the associated problems that occur with an ECU that is designed to run at 11.6:1. Even if you put a Power Commander on it to fix the mapping, you're only able to tune it as well as the changed compression will allow for. Albeit, you more than likely wouldn't notice untill you put the bike on a dyno and run comparision numbers.
