China? I think I would hold off a bit. Let some other sucker test them out and see how they hold up.

    rotors

A thought - the larger cross drilled CBR600F rotors have the some bolt pattern as the stock VF500F rotors. The trick is that to mount them custom caliper carriers need to be machined - this would be pricey for sure (due to the anti-dive system) but in the end you'll get larger diameter rotors which equal more stopping power. I know it's not a direct answer to your question but I wanted to throw it out there ;-)

Per your question, Braking USA (made in Italy) manufactures stock rotors for the VF500F.

    milling machine

Yes, but these would be expensive to fabricate! This is in part why I was giving some thought to installing CBR600F fork sliders on a set of VF500F fork tubes. I'm not sure if this would work but it would certainly help with the budget ;-)

    carriers

A friend is using CBR954RR calipers, a CBR600F wheel & rotors, VF500F forks and custom caliper carriers. It took some time to dial in the carriers – because of the anti-dive. It is a sweet set-up though with much improved braking and lighter overall weight.

I look forward to seeing your set  It sounds like you are having some fun with it. Did you go with a CBR600F2 rim/rotors, with the VF500F calipers?

Bought rotors on Ebay from S3 Performance (australia) for my vf1000f with cb600f2 wheels. They look exactly the same as those Chinese ones except for "S3" engraved on them (and more $$). I broke the engine before I could installed them and report (I might be the sucker trying them if they are relabeled).

One thing I noted, the grove for the bolt head is 1mm less deep than stock. This is a problem for my rear with a custom caliper bracket, need to machine it a bit for the bolt heads to clear.

When I was young in the '60-'70, "made in Japan" was the "made in China" of today. Think what "made in Japan" means today (specially on this site :)

    Nice!

I'm excited just to have my Pirelli Demons on and they are Bias-Ply.

I'd love to get some radials on.
