6 hours of wrenching, one of it cursing...

    Today was the day- I finally got to install my Leo Vince Carbon exhaust enhancement devices, an ABS shock, and a Honda top case.

    Installing the ABS shock wasn't too hard, but I had to disassemble the remote pre load adjuster to get it routed correctly, including the knob assembly. Note: watch out for the ball bearing and spring when you do this, it's a pain to find when it shoots across the floor. I really should have asked someone if they could post some pics on what the routing is supposed to look like, to save some time and heart ache. the worst part was when I realized I left the mounting bolts and spacers at home and had to tape the remote preload adjuster to the right passenger peg to ride home:rolleyes:

    The exhaust wasn't too bad to deal with, but then again I did remember to read the write ups posted on this site. Thanks silver surfer for your write up and KIA001 for the deal on the Leo Vince Carbon. My only issue is that my kit only came with one baffle, but two baffle screw kits. I do have questions about the "L" bracket that looks like it mounts to the right passenger peg- any one got pics? And what about the four round disks? the instructions say nothing.

    My biggest head ache came when I started the the top case bracket install. Boy did Honda nuke that cluster f#*k. First, getting the rubber boot over the side bag mounts while aligning the spacers and bolts at the same time was a treat (why is the rack and rubber all one piece? why isn't it seperate like the side bag mounts?). then came the mounting base bracket plate, wasn't too hard, but all the parts in different baggies (what rocket scientist decided to put three of the required four bolts and hardware in one bag and the fourth in another bag!?). then came the plastic mount that the case mounts on. that effing abortion. I had to cut plastic off of that thing to get it to mount correctly (or I was missing four spacers from the kit...), but once I did that I had to remove two steel tabs off the metal base plate to get it to fit right. I plan on sending a scathing letter asking why their product was AFU.

    I finally finished after 7 hours, and I am mostly pleased. I also now have to wear earplugs when riding because even with the slow speeds around here, the bike now has plenty to say!
