would you use a motorcycle camper?

I think ima build one. would be more fun than a tent and a great way to get closer to the wife.

TC, you got that right. I don't camp any more. Now it is hotels with heat/AC, TV, pool if possible and room service if necessary. I am finally at a point in my life where I can afford it and I enjoy every minute of it. For me, camping is falling asleep in a lounge chair next to the pool.

Last thing I need is a bad .....worse back....from bad nights sleep after 5-600 mile day. Comfy bed, nice dinner and a few drinks to ready myself for the next long day of riding. We do have a tradition on the road of girlie bars in new towns. It is alot like Christmas.

Nope, I wouldn't even consider it. I would however throw a small tent, a pillow, and a sleeping bag on the bike and camp somewhere. But I wouldn't pull a camper. Hotel or a tent only.

Just using a stun gun to get closer to your wife would be cheaper and safer too. Please note that this alternative method is not for everyone, only those with more serious problems.

I checked the Federal Penal Code and the relevant statute clearly states that the only occasion that you can lawfully use a stun gun on your wife is if she is holding your MC keys and won't give them back to you...also, the gun's intensity setting can be set no higher than at medium strength.

Oh my! No spare new key? Further invesitgation indicates the now irrelevent statute was overidden by the Supremes since stun guns were shown to insure domestic tranquility.

Let us hope that the Gopher's wife does not read any of this, run out and buy a stun gun, crank that sucker up to full tilt and end his camping days.

Losing "Go for a ride" would be like losing say a quarter in a washing machine or a rock in one's shoe.

Sure we love the idea of camping. Let me know when there is a 5th wheel hitch set up for the VFR to pull the 38' 14,000 lb camper with the VFR. Until then, Holiday Inn is camping while out on a ride.

I always stay in the crappiest cheapest motels I can find. My wife never comes with me. I recall once riding in to Garberville, CA, after dark. My brother and I asked the service station attendant where we could stay cheap. He gestured toward the shittiest motel we saw on the trip. But, being adventurous, we checked it out. While my brother looked inside the fleabag room I was surprised when the adjacent door opened and two grungy young women came out. "OOOOH, bikers!" one of them squealed! We couldn't get out of there fast enough! No camping for us though. We rode on south to a more "family-friendly" locale.

If you drag your camper along you will miss out on all the adventure!

We mourn the passage of our friend and fellow traveller "Go for a ride." On a recent camping trip he was eaten by a bear in a Kalamazoo KOA. RIP does not quite fit here so everyone can make up thier own epitath.

IMO submissions should be no more than two lines and not include any family histories or war stories, mileage records or top speeds of VFR's unless equipped with trailer hitches.

Use one? Sure, why not. If we were out for a ride and YOU were pulling one of those things, I'd sleep in it. Pull it myself? No freaking way. Ever since I got my Rapid Trans tank bag, I don't even wear a backpack anymore. I usually carry 'bout a half pint of liquid sleep with me that way when and where to sleep isn't an issue.
Camping is mostly work. When I was kid, I loved it but Mom and Dad did most of the work. I took my family camping for the first time this past summer.. fuck that shit. Everything, and I mean EVERYTHING is harder. Cooking, cleaning, getting to the the showers and/or restrooms, setting up camp, breaking down camp, rubbing one out cause the old lady is so pissed you took her camping in the first place...

Hell yeah! Just fabricate one for me and I may just buy one from you. Is there enough room for a mini kitchen and twin size bed; I think a full would be a bit big, you?

Depends on if you buy one, or if i build one myself. Ill have to build it for two so ill make sure the bed is big enough.

Ill start drawing up designs soon.
