Last year I worked a deal, selling my 06 pearl white, and buying an 07 RWB. I lost no money on the deal, and I had 13,000 miles on the 06, and the 07 only had 206! Excellent! I used to own the 1st Gen 700cc with the same paint scheme as the 07 when I was 20 years old (I bought it new, so I am now aging myself), so I just had to have the 07! Anyway, I replaced the tires on the 06 with Conti RA's and I absolutely loved them! I sold the bike with them installed. When I later bought the 07, the first thing that I did was have Conti RA's installed on it. Now, I must tell you that I ride year round, rain or shine, in Washington State, so it is mostly rainy. I loved the Conti's in the rain! I couldn't believe how the tire gripped, until I had the new set installed on the 07. It was like ice skating! Totally unnerving! I wondered if Conti changed the compounds or something, so I called them, and they claimed that they didn't. I had put 3000 miles on them before it started raining, and they were fine in the dry, but, I could still read the writing in the front tire, and a bit of the writing in the back tire. I am an semi-aggressive rider, and I take it to the track, and over the summer I did three track days on these tires, so that doesn't seem right. My buddy thinks that I put too many, or to extreme, heat cycles on them? Last week, I gave up on them, and put on a set of Michelin PP2CT's. Has anyone else running Conti RA's had any grip problems with them? Thanks.

Conti RAs were the first set of replacement tires I bought for my VFR, in early '07. I liked them a lot - got a fair price on the set, felt like they turned in easily enough, gripped well dry or wet and I got good mileage out of them.

I haven't bought a set since then, so I have no idea if they're better/worse now. I would have bought another set since I liked them, but got better deals on other tires the last couple years. Plus I always run a sportbike (softer compound) front now, so I won't buy a set of RAs again. Maybe a rear only someday, but not a front.

I have had 2 sets of the Conti RASM (Road Attack-Sport Mileage) tires and loved them. Had them last year on the fz6 I had then this year on the 600rr. I did all aggressive street riding and leaned both bikes over full tilt on both sides....never a problem and they wear like iron. I will be buying them for the VFR when the stockers wear out for sure.

I have been using the Michelin PP 2 CT's for a couple of weeks now, and all I can say is that there is no comparison. The PP's are like Velcro. They are not as stable as the RA's though.

I ran one set of the RAs. I had no slippage issues, but they wore out too quickly for my needs. I have switched to Pilot Roads.

    Front end shake.

Hey, I forgot to add that the vicious hands-off front end shake that I had on the Conti's is gone, now that I have installed the PP's!

I'm on my 3rd set of Conti RA's with no issues. I also ride all year long rain or shine. I just turned 48,000 on a 05' that i bought at the end of 06 with 17,000 miles on her. The third set is still in the box since I have at least a good 1500 miles left on the 2nd set. Good grip (the dirt, it had good grip!) commuting 40 miles a day, 5 days a week on good to questionable pavement. I've never run into any slippage even with mildly assertive riding on the weekends. I'm not sure what's happening with your tires...

Just got rid of my RA's. I have Michelin Pilot Road 2's now....liking them so far. I will not miss the "shaky" handlebars which is a trademark of the unique tread design.
