I just bought a leftover 06 VFR and love the bike. I think it is the
first bike I have owned that I really don't want to change anything on. I
have an FJR with a Corbin, had an RT with a Corbin and find the stock VFR
seat very similar to the Corbin. Firm, good support and easy to move on.
    It's staying!

I also bought an 06 VFR last October. I just put a Corbin seat on it. Luv it!
I am going to switch out the headlight bulbs for Piaa's or similar.

If the stock seat is just like a Corbin, then I'm glad I bought a Sargent. I have sat on rocks that were more comfortable than the stock VFR seat - at least for me.

I didn't like the stock seat at all so i bought a corbin seat. I'm waiting for it, the seat left vancouver last week. 3 friends of mine bought corbin seat and they love them. It's firm but after a long trip, the difference is obvious.

The Corbin is heavier that the stock seat. Once you see the Corbin the old seat is just cheap crap. Note: The Corbin was tough to lock into place the first time.
..but it gets easier....don't mess around with it.

for you guys with stock seats, try riding 400-500 miles with only gas stops and see what you think of the stock seat after that.

I just finished a 300 mile ride today with the Sargent - sore, real sore. I replaced the stock with Sargent Cycle Products - Honda VFR 800 (2002+)
and while the seat looks nice, fits very well - I'm not convinced I'm better off over stock. I just order beads for the seat from BeadRider - Beaded Motorcycle Seats and will give that a try. I'm at the point where I can only handle about 200 - 250 miles in the saddle, not good enough.

Sorry to hear your not happy with the seat. I had heard about the Sargent seats too. However, I spoke to a lot of riders on all sorts of bikes and not one complained about the Corbin saddle. A good buddy of mine also put a Corbin on his older VFR and swore by it.
So I bit the bullet and went Corbin. I have never heard about the bead seat...but I guess its worth a try.

My stock is going away as soon as the budget allows for the Sargent.
The reason I am choosing the Sargent is twofold(cool word, huh?).
The colored piping looks slick, and customer service is widely known to be better to Corbin.

That's all I have to say about that.

well i have both the stock seat and the corbin for my bike and i change them out regularly it depends on the ridding gear im wearing at the time if im in my frnkthomas leathers the stock seat is on the bikeas the corbin is uncomftable while in leathers,if im in my texttile out fit the corbin goes on the bike the stocker at that point is uncomble so it depends on what ure wearing to which seat to use for me any way

I rode over 10k miles on the stock seat and did not really have many complaints. The biggest being I had to change position very often on the long rides.
Once I got the Sargent I immediately felt the difference. The first long ride I took with it I did not have to move at all. It just seems to fit better. I understand everyone's butt is shaped different.
    Use what fits your butt.

I am glad that Honda put the money where it counts on this bike. I guess you cut corners somewhere. This is my second VFR and not too long to switch out the stock saddle. My '99 had a Corbin- heavy yes, though immediately stopped me riding the tank. lowered the leg position a bit as well. My '05, I put a Sargent and these saddles I have found them to be superior to stock. The Sargent is lighter and the storage underneath is a plus as not much space to stow the little things! Also loved the Corbin on my 1150 RT. However did not replace the excitement of a VFR. Hence returning to one. Good luck
