So two days after, my knee is practically pain free. I find this amazing as it took almost all of the blow from the deer. I consider myself lucky that I wasn't injured worse than I was, but I'm not going to bank on being so lucky next time. I'm going to add some more armor to my set up.

    Considering these at the moment...
Shift Racing Enforcer Knee/Shin Guards - Motorcycle Superstore

Anybody have experience with these type of knee guards?

Hey man, glad to hear your ok. I was going to work myself the other day and came within 5 feet of a doe. I was going from a highway to an interstate and the thing just crossed in front of me on the on ramp. I consider myself lucky. Stupid deer.

Glad you are ok. I spent this morning and yesterday morning trying to get some payback. I plan on putting a fast spinning chunk of hot metal through one in the next couple weeks for us all.

Saw a deer run across the road in front of me in the dark last week. Worse than deer lately tho have been the squirrels. Like they've got a death wish the way they've been running across the roads.

Today, however, it was caterpillars (woolly worms, or whatever they are). Tons of them crossing the roads during my ride in SE Ohio this afternoon. I tried to miss them all but I think I skooshed a few.

Good save there man. Damage is a PIA but what's more important is you're safe and can still enjoy riding.

I was nutted in the left knee by a deer earlier this year. About 6:30 on a cold and rainy Spring evening, going at approx 65mph, this thing came out of the left hand side ditch in a weird crouch and ran straght into my left side. The bike barely moved and I just continued riding. I was wearing rain pants, riding pants with padding over the knees and jeans. It hurt like a bastard, but not for about five minutes, then I was screaming in pain for the next 30 miles! When I arrived home 2hrs later and took off my gear my wife burst out laughing when she saw the side of my leg. There was a perfect deer nose shaped bruise, nose holes and everything.

    Kill em all.

I can't recall where this happened several years ago, but I was in my cage and the road was literally a blanket of toads. It was impossible to miss them. The ones that hadn't been squished yet were hopping all over the place. Made for a very slimy surface and minimal grip. Can't imagine what it would have been like had I been on my bike.
