Space in VF500 linkage

    Yes!

    It is normal for there to be space in those places. I say this from seeing several of the Vf 500 f's taken apart. I also have seen the same sort of space on my 86 VFR 700 F2.

    Yep, this is normal. Its the same on my VFR 750 (1986) & seen it on 4 other bikes of the same vintage.

    Disconcerting, I know but that's how it works.

    I know that the first time I encountered the gaps I immediately thought of putting shims in to take up the space. But if shims were called for they would appear in the parts fiche as a part number. :confused: I don't think they appear. You might double check.

    Yes, this is totally normal and all VF500's have that gap. You aren't the first to notice it and be concerned, but it's just fine.
