    No, but I keep a real close eye on weather conditions. If it has been dry for a couple of days, and there is no precipitation in the forecast, it has always been OK. I'm still really careful in shady corners and over bridges, though.

    If it is possible to go in the middle of the week, that's the best time. If you leave Sac about noon or so, then the Sierras will be close to their warmest, and there generally isn't much traffic to contend with.

    Pretty much the same coming back, too. Leaving Reno about 11:00 AM will put you into the Truckee basin while it is still a bit cool, but not bad.

    I do try and avoid early morning rides through the Sierras during spring, as the snow run-off during the day tends to ice overnight.

    FWIW, the Silver Legacy has covered motorcycle parking right outside the lobby. Good rooms at reasonable prices, too.
