Funny you should mention that cause I'm leaving Thursday morning and headed back to Mass. to visit family and friends. Sunday were planning a ride up into Vt. for the Apple Pie festival. I'm not sure what the weather will bring but i know it will be colder than it is here. We'll have a bunch of people getting together Sunday morning. Meeting at the gas station in Sunderland next to the Red Roof Inn and Yankee Candle right off of 91. It used to be a Mobil station but it's an Irving now? Anyway take a right off of 91 exit for Yankee Candle and it's there on the left. We're gonna ride 116 to Conway and over to Shelbourne Falls from there we'll pick up Rt100 and ride to Wilmington Vt. and breakfast @ Dots. After breakfast we'll head over to Dummerston VT. for some hot apple pie and cider. If i'm not freezing my ass of we'll do some more riding after that. If you can make it let me know. I haven't set a meet time just yet. I'll be on my RWB 86 750.

We don't get the big groups you guys in Cali get but we have had some great rides this year.
I have also met a bunch of great people on this site to ride with.
It seems we have not been able to get everyone together at once, we always seem to get at least 3 or 4 guys to meet and ride.

To all that have made it for this summers rides,Thanks for joining me, hope you all enjoyed the route and glad to have met you all.
( Somefun, Blckbrd, Viffer2003, Kobe Diesel, butzip, mdncosta, PhotosByHamza, Chris2711 & bbwong ) I hope I did not forget anyone.

We might be able to get one or two more in, but looking forward to next spring to start all over again.

Long hope we meet and ride next season.

Yeah, keep us posted for sure. Not sure if I can get away for the whole day, but I'd join up for a little while anyway and tag along if it's cool. As of now the weekend is looking pretty good weather-wise. Sunday is going to top out around 60 in Spfld, so you should still be in the low-mid 50's up on Rt 100.

02 - nice recap pics, and thanks for the reminder of that camper pass lol...WOW . Um, I'll take a new rear tire...and a clean pair of shorts please!

OK, the meet time at the gas station is 9:30am. We'll be leaving the gas station at 10am. Plan accordingly cause we're not going to wait for anyone. Don't worry about not being able to ride the whole day or what ever. Ride as long as you want. Depending on how many people show we may break up into a couple of groups. I know of at least one other VFR besides mine will be going. If any of you want to bring your lady that's fine too. There may be a few riding 2 up. BTW my name is Dan. Hope you can make it.

Sounds good to me. I'm 90% I can at least get out for a while in the morning anyway, maybe break off after that.

My name is Chris, 02 VFR Rider is Kevin. Sounds like he might be in too. Kevin - if you're in maybe we can hook up and ride up there together

Hope to meet up with ya Sunday!

Hi guys, ride is still on but due to the large amount of people that decided to come we may have a hard time getting breakfast. Dot's is definetly out. We'd never get in. Eat before hand if you need to or get to gas station early for coffee or something. Just in case.

Sounds good, tks for the heads up. I'm only in for a few anyway...I was hoping to do leave pick up / yard work Saturday, but yesterday my GF told me she's doing a tag sale at her sister in law on Saturday, so I know what that means...I'm stuck there bringing crap all over the place, setting up, breaking down, blah blah blah...All so some old lady can buy a used picture for a dollar. At least it might clean some stuff out of the basement though!

I still hope to head up to meet up with you guys and at least log on a few miles with ya . With a bunch of guys, you can't be waiting for people, so if I can't get out I'll certainly catch ya next time! Weather is going to be great all weekend, just a little messy early Saturday that's all.

My favorite ride in the area is 116 to 8a (116 shares some asphalt with 112 for a bit but stay on 116 when they split just a bit outside Ashfield), 8a all the way up to 112 crossing Rt 2 and going into VT. The stretch of 8a north of Rt 2 is a blast. Then 112 through Worthington and all the way down into Huntington and to Rt 20.

I have been tempted to join one of your rides. I just have not been very organized this year--lots going on on all sorts of fronts and work has been demanding (and it is not the best climate for saying no)--but I haven't given up yet. I live in Springfield so it is not too hard to go in any direction. I tend to run in the Monson/Wilbraham hills and down into Northeastern CT when I want to ride without straying too far from home. If I am a bit more ambitious, I like 116 and 8a and 112.

We are, too, we just shake a bit more when we are done. I lived in San Diego for 10 years and bicycled all over the place. It is a beautiful area, but Western Mass has some amazing roads many fewer people. It does snow though :(.

My ride on Sunday was real nice.
    About 48 degrees and sunny!
Only my hands got a little cold.
    Forget about rt 9 though.
A scenic ride if you have the wife but not if your trying to make time.
I didn't get to the dam till 2:30, took a few dam pictures and made the loop around the resevoir.

Hopefully we will get another nice day to ride before the snow comes.

    -Chris
